Took my fam here for Mother’s Day, the restaurant is small and cute, food is very fresh and I loved the appetizers and hand rolls, the mackerel fish with rice was my favorite, it has both raw and seared mackerel and they were delicious!! The salad was so fresh and gives such a crunchy texture. They pay attention to the details, the presentation, texture, freshness and flavor are all great! I really enjoyed the experience overall. The only thing I have to complain is the ravioli itself was kinda bland, the soup, squid and clams were really good tho. So overall a five star for sure! Thank you for the wonderful experience ❤️
We were really excited to check out this new Japanese spot in Highland Park. The interior is really beautiful and the menu has modern takes on classic dishes.
We ordered the Ine noodle and spring cold noodle. The Ine noodle was a rich and umami take on Ramen while the spring cold noodle was light and refreshing. Both dishes had the same noodles.
I would come back to check out their other seasonal offerings.
Food was mid and very pricey for what it was, the decor was nice, the staff was pleasant enough but clinical, awkward, and rambly about the food as stated in another patron’s review. My friend got there about four minutes early and was told they would allow him to have a seat despite being early (??? the place was empty on early Saturday evening, but that’s very kind of them I suppose….). The gyudon was an overpriced dry yoshinoya beef bowl, and a tiny bowl of super salty shelled edamame being $7 is… ridiculous. The fish with fennel salad was actually the best and most innovative dish. But yeah, if I didn’t have good company to enjoy the dinner with, I would have fallen into depression from this experience. I’m sorry - I want to support small businesses but some places are just not hitting the marks, and these 5 star reviews and influencer reviews are super sus… go to Tsukiyo sushi in Koreatown or any other Korean sushi place in Koreatown and you’ll get innovation and better deals.
Absolutely outstanding food. The best unagi I've ever had - and in a handroll no less. Definitely order a lot, the portions are small and the adventures are vast. The service is top notch, and the chefs know their shiitake. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend the unagi, toro, and sea bream.
Everything we ordered was so good, and the mood was great. Honestly, not a single miss on the menu. Staff were super friendly too. Definitely coming back soon!
