A drier style of Sri Lankan kottu, served without gravy, featuring vegetables.
Kottu roti is a Sri Lankan street food dish, with its name originating from the Tamil word for "chopped." It emerged from the Sri Lankan Moor community in the Eastern regions of Sri Lanka, particularly in Batticaloa and Trincomalee. The dish fundamentally consists of chopped roti combined with a meat curry, scrambled egg, onions, and chillies. Variations of this dish are also found in South India and internationally where Sri Lankan diaspora populations reside.
