Passing through Virginia and googling for a place to eat on a Saturday afternoon.
The building is very unassuming, like a regular residential house without a sign on it. When you stepped in it did feel like a very welcoming home.
Our server was extremely friendly and took great care of us. He could tell it’s our first time so he made sure to explain the nuance of their menu, like how their Caesar dressing is unconventional or how certain side dishes are made.
I had the skirt steak and hubby had the ribeye and they are both delicious! Both steak are marked “MP” and we didn’t ask how much beforehand, when we got the bill it’s really a good deal for the amount of food we got!
The pasta alfredo side dish is really good! You know it’s the same quality as the pasta entree. The creamed spinach is unconventional with a little breadcrumb and other seasoning, you know they put thought into each side dishes even tho the name may sound like anyone else.
Don’t think we will pass by this area again so we are very glad to find this gem while we had the chance!
I've been twice. Moderate pricing. The stuffed mushrooms are amazing. Their sirloin is really good too. Unfortunately, their prime rib, sirloin, and scallops were unavailable this time. The prime rib and scallops were unavailable the last time over 2 weeks ago. They seem to be having sourcing issues. However, I got the crabcake today. It was good but a lot of shell, so be careful. Probably mechanically picked crabmeat. But I'll go for beef, chicken or something else next time as that is really good when available. Go. It's definitely worth a try and I will go again. Service has always been friendly.
Great food and service the first time there. The second time, the food wasn't as good, but service was still top-notch.
Found out I'm not a fan of flash-fried spinach. It was like if spinach was turned into cotton candy and dissolved into tiny fragments in your mouth.
We had a birthday dinner for a friend last night at this, his favorite restaurant. We brought a cake and they were so accommodating! They set us up for 20 people and over the next 4 hours treated us like we were the most special people on earth. The food was delicious, all of it coming out fresh and hot.
Though it's an hour from home, we'll be back!
So glad to have the Briar Patch Restaurant local to where we live! Amazing service, atmosphere and the food is always great. The staff is super friendly. They offer more than great food. It’s a local landmark and absolutely worth a trip to check out!
