I shop at C Town Grocery Store all the time, and overall it’s a good store. The staff, especially the girls working there, are very nice, friendly, and helpful. The vegetables and other grocery items usually have good prices, which I really appreciate.
The only thing is that the store needs a little more cleaning because sometimes it feels a bit dirty. Also, the meat prices are very expensive for me, so I think they should improve that too. That’s why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, still a good place to shop with kind staff
I love this store for its decent selection of Middle Eastern and South Asian food items and ingredients, but believe some of the other reviews here about cleanliness and food freshness. A lot of the fruits and prepackaged items are clearly nearing their expiration date or are sometimes well past it.
For example, they had large Peruvian blueberries on sales for $2 once. I bought 10 boxes cause I thought it was a steal. But once I got home, there were at least fifteen or molding blueberries within each box. I just picked them all out and froze the entire box.
Having this kind of operation is a huge health hazard. Please, do a better job at monitoring this. You're business is the reason why I get to do ME/Arab groceries without having to go all the way to Anaheim!
I live far from this place, I passes more than three supermarkets and still go there since I like the bakery which is a separate not same owner. Unfortunately every single time I buy fruits or Vegetables and goes to the trash. So disturbing to dump your money in the trash due to bad rotten products.
Last time I had to throw away 3 mangos out of 4 I bought, they were not cheap at all.
Today I bought Plums 1.99 a pound and got thrown in the trash all of them they were terribly bad. This is it No more buying anything from this place its not worth to give them business since they do not care for their customer's satisfaction and health.
Hazardous Food and Terrible Management
If you want to risk getting sick, this is the place to shop. I found dates infested with worms, meat that was old and losing its color, and fruits and vegetables that were spoiled or expired. Many other packaged products were out of date as well.
When I tried to return the items, the manager, Hessam, was extremely rude and refused to take responsibility. This is a serious food safety hazard, and it’s shocking that a store in this condition is still allowed to operate. I will be reporting this to local food safety authorities. They are stealing customer money and selling expired products without taking responsibility
Shop here at your own risk — your health is on the line
This place is my new favorite grocery for produce, they really make sure their produce is well curated. Their deli/meat section does not smell like rotting animal products. They're halal bakery is awesome. Their baklava is simply amazing, so delicious. Even their frozen items are not insanely priced. They're as cheap or cheaper than WinCo on many items and they're open until like 9pm.
