their croissants are really perfect. They are bigger than usual croissants. Of course, they are more expensive than other bakeries. However, they pack everything nicely so that you don't get crushed. Arm yourself with patience. There is always a line, but they are well organized and everything goes quickly. The staff is extremely friendly and the bakery is very clean. For every recommendation. Note: they work from 09:00 in the morning
I arrived at around 8:59 and were able to get in by 9:16, so the wait was not too bad at all. The staff member managing the queue outside was very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience start on a positive note.
I picked up a selection including the Fleur Banoffee, Fleur Mangue, pain au chocolat, croissants, and a pain suisse. The pastries were definitely the highlight. The croissants were soft and buttery inside with a light crisp on the outside, and the pain au chocolat was nicely layered and very enjoyable.
The cakes are on the pricier side at around €18 each. The Fleur Mangue was not overly sweet, which was nice, but overall felt a bit more ordinary than expected.
The Fleur Banoffee, on the other hand, was much more interesting. It had great layers of flavour and texture, with a mix of soft, creamy elements and little crunchy bits throughout. It made each bite more enjoyable and added a nice contrast.
In total I spent €72, which feels reasonable for the location and name. Overall, a nice experience, especially for the viennoiserie and the Banoffee, though not everything fully lived up to the hype.

Located near the iconic Opéra district in Paris, Cédric Grolet Opéra truly lives up to its international reputation when it comes to desserts. Every pastry looks like a piece of edible art, crafted with incredible precision, creativity, and flavor. From the moment you walk in, it is easy to understand why people from around the world wait in line just to experience these famous creations. The fruit-shaped desserts are absolutely mind-blowing, both visually and in taste. Each bite tastes fresh, balanced, and luxurious without being overwhelmingly sweet. The textures are layered perfectly, and you can tell an immense amount of technique goes into every item they create.
The presentation alone is worth the visit. Watching the pastry chefs work behind the counter adds to the overall experience and gives the shop a high-end yet exciting atmosphere. Whether you order one of the signature fruit desserts, a tart, or one of the seasonal specialties, the quality is undeniable. This is the kind of dessert experience that makes you remember Paris long after your trip is over.
That said, the customer service unfortunately did not match the level of the pastries. The female staff members who was the one serving us and everyone else on that day came across as very dry and uninterested while serving customers. At a place known worldwide for luxury desserts and presentation, you would expect the staff to be enthusiastic and welcoming, especially when explaining the pastries to guests who may be visiting for the first time. Instead, the interaction felt rushed and somewhat cold, which took away from the overall experience. A warmer attitude and more passion while describing the desserts would make a huge difference and better reflect the world-class reputation of the shop.
Despite the service issue, the desserts themselves are absolutely phenomenal and among the best you can find in Paris. If you appreciate pastry artistry and premium desserts, this place is still worth visiting at least once.

A Two-Hour Dessert Experience Worth Every Minute!!
If you’re in Paris and love desserts, the afternoon tea at Cedric Grolet Opéra is an experience, not just a meal or dessert.
The experience begins with your choice of one hot and one cold beverage, followed by delicate sandwiches. As vegetarians, we enjoyed adorable tiny baguettes with cucumber and cheese, while the non-vegetarian option featured salmon and caviar that everyone around us seemed to love.
Then comes the main event - the famous desserts, thoughtfully served in mini sizes, allowing you to sample so many incredible flavors. We tried the tart grapefruit, strawberry meringue, Alphonso mango, the famous vanilla, matcha, chocolate, and hazelnut. Every bite was beautiful and bursting with flavor.
To finish, you’re served tiny bite-sized cookies that were crisp on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, in both chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
We purposely hadn’t eaten all day, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food. The best part? You have two full hours to relax, take breaks between courses, and truly savor every bite. Elegant, creative, and delicious - an unforgettable Parisian experience. ☕🍓🥭🍫🇫🇷

I tried the hot chocolate which tasted watered down and lacking the rich flavour. The strawberry flower cake was incredibly good. The freshness in the jam and airyness of the cream really made it stand out.
The chocolate flower was a pleasant surprise. The mousse is very rich in flavour. The chocolate coating is a rich flavour of dark chocolate, a great combination, that elevates the tasting experience.
The chocolate bottom cake is nice and neutral and does not over power the chocolate experience.
The service is not that good, you will definitely feel the Parisian vibe, you feel you are an inconvenience to them.
At the time i was there the cafe was half empty.
Will I come again? Very doubtful, the price and the cakes do not slign. You are definitely paying extra for the brand name.
