I went to Food Empire for lunch. I ordered fish noodles from Mee Tarik and a chicken wrap from Delicious Shawarma. The noodles were nice and chewy, but the fish was mushy — not to my liking. The wrap was crispy, but the chicken was too salty — not to my liking.
The food at Food Empire was actually not bad. I had nasi campur with my family, and overall, everything was fine.
However, I had an unpleasant experience at the drink stall. There was a cleaning staff member who was mopping around the area, and I honestly didn’t notice that he was there because he wasn’t actually mopping at the time. The area he was supposed to clean was directly in front of the drink service, so I simply waited for my order and collected my drink.
What bothered me was that instead of saying something, he kept looking at me and then sighed loudly, seemingly just to make sure I could hear him. Mind you, it was only around 9:40am, still early in the morning, and there was practically no one around. If he needed me to move or wanted to clean that particular area, he could have simply said so.
I found the attitude unnecessarily rude and arrogant. A simple “excuse me” would have been enough. The food was fine, but the interaction with this particular staff member definitely left a bad impression.
Visited on a Saturday during lunchtime and still got aplenty of seats empty. Lots of food to choose from the different stalls (all halal). Tried the viral Bumbu Babah by Ajak Shiro. 2 plates of ayam balado rice set & rendang + paru rice set. Food tastes average and the rendang was hard but the paru and sambal balado & hijau was good. Tried the fried dumplings at mee tarek stall as fellow review says its nice. Ok lah not bad but I have tasted better elsewhere. Overall Food price was reasonable but drinks here quite expensive. Still got Food Junction and other restaurants to choose from if the food here not to your liking.
Almost everyday beli makan dekat food empire, as a staff can get 10% off. But today they told me, no card no dis 10%, if tak nak bagi tenant discount, make sure bagitahu awal sebelum nak payment. And make sure don’t show the tenant promo at cashier.
The arab cuisine- delicious shawarma is not bad, worth a try. However, the hot plate (salmon) is very salty, the salmon portion is limited, black pepper is too much.
Overall, the waiting procedure can be improved, shouting customer number is not working, because the music playing in the food court is too loud, should have a monitor that display the waiting number, this may be more efficient
