Great location. Our server Sean was wonderful and food was great. Good overall service. Only feedback was waiting to be served and pay, you stand around and multiple staff walk past you, would be great if they just mention in passing that someone will be worth you shortly or reassure you are in the right location. I think we jumped the gun and sat ourselves as we weren’t sure if anyone was going to come and seat us after waiting some time. Sean was still very kind and welcoming.
UPDATE - Thank you for your prompt response. We disagree with your investigation findings and it is now clear that someone within your organisation has provided incorrect and misleading information regarding this matter.
I have attached an image of the purchase summary from Central Hospitality Group which clearly confirms that the order was placed on 3 May for a voucher to be delivered via Australia Post to a local address. At no stage did we request or select click and collect.
The suggestion that this issue arose because of our own selection is both inaccurate and extremely disappointing. The fact that someone within your organisation is attempting to discredit our account and shift responsibility back onto us has made this situation far more distressing than it ever needed to be.
We acknowledge that this issue may not have been directly caused by Hopscotch Restaurant itself. However, as part of the Central Hospitality Group, it is reasonable to expect accountability and ownership from your company rather than continued deflection.
We contacted your company late afternoon on 13 May, the actual anniversary date — to follow up on the missing voucher. At that time we were advised it was not convenient to hand deliver the voucher, despite this later being presented as though it was done immediately and proactively. After following up once again the following day, the voucher was eventually delivered, albeit reluctantly and after the occasion had already passed.
What should have been a small and easily acknowledged mistake unfortunately turned into an unnecessary “pass the buck” exercise. All we wanted was for our parents to enjoy a memorable lunch at Hopscotch for their 65th wedding anniversary. Instead, the experience became unnecessarily stressful and disappointing due to the handling of this matter and the refusal to simply acknowledge an error from the outset.
INITIAL REVIEW
We were very disappointed with our experience arranging a gift voucher for our parents to use at Hopscotch Restaurant for their 65th wedding anniversary.
To be clear, this is not a reflection on the restaurant itself. When visiting our parents in Tamworth, we have always enjoyed lovely breakfasts and have had very positive experiences with the restaurant team.
Unfortunately, the issue was with Central Hospitality Group, the company responsible for facilitating the issuing and delivery of gift vouchers. Despite ordering the voucher 10 days prior to the special occasion, it was still not delivered by the anniversary date. We had to follow this up on two separate occasions before it was finally sent after the day had already passed.
It was extremely disappointing given the significance of the occasion, and it took away from what was intended to be a thoughtful and special gift experience. We would encourage others to think carefully before purchasing gift vouchers from this company to avoid similar disappointment.
Nice spot with a relaxed environment that makes it easy to settle in.
Food leans on the pricier side, but quality is good. Tried the hummingbird cake - fresh, moist, and delicious.
Overall, a solid choice in Tamworth for a sit-down bite.
Fantastic spot I had been recommended to visit for breakfast. Food & coffee were great really impressed with the flavour combination on my avocado bruschetta. Great table service by a young man named Damo.
Will definitely go back next time I visit Tamworth!
My wife and I are in Tamworth for our first country music festival here. We're staying at the Edward Parry Motel, and the owners ( Michael and Lisa) recommended the Hopscotch Restaurant and Bar to us. I have to say we're very happy that they did. Situated in a park by the river, adjacent to the centre of town, and in the middle of a recreation park including a small water feature, this is a happy, relaxing place to be.
The staff are very friendly, the menu is very comprehensive, and the chefs are creating wonders. We've been here three days so far, this is the second time we've had brunch at Hopscotch, we've had four different dishes and they've all been conversation killers, except for the occasional "Oh wow" and " I'm so full but I can't stop eating".
We're seriously impressed.
We have another three days here and Hopscotch will feature.
So far we've had;
Poke Bowl with chicken,
Scrambled eggs on toast with bacon,
Avocado toast ( which includes poached egg & other yummy stuff)
Eggs Benny with bacon on croissant.( with hollandaise to die for).
Let's not forget the mango frappes we've been having as well..... just the thing on a hot day.
Everything has been beautifully presented (the restaurant and the meals), and the flavours superb.
Well done Hopscotch!
Rob and Kim from Surfers Paradise.
