I was really disappointed with our visit to Juniper Artland Wild Swimming.
The road in and out is absolutely dreadful, with huge potholes throughout. Considering the high entry price for both humans and dogs, you’d expect the access to be much better maintained.
The “wild swimming” certainly lives up to the name - but not in a good way. There are no changing facilities, virtually no signage, and the water is dyed blue yet still looked dirty. The amount of algae and weeds was unbelievable, and while we were there, staff were actually raking weeds out of the water, which didn’t inspire much confidence in its cleanliness.
The one real highlight was the coffee shop. The food and cakes were lovely, although the coffee was served in such a tiny cup that it was gone in two gulps!
Overall, I don’t feel the experience justified the price. With better maintenance, clearer facilities, and cleaner swimming conditions, it could be a much more enjoyable place to visit. Along with signposting and staff actually aware of guiding individuals the activity!
It would get one star if not for the coffee shop!
As mirrored with Amy’s review below. The roads from the moment we entered to the car park were in a state with regular pot holes, especially on the way out ! Different road and it was so bumpy like ridic !! Also charging £7 entry for dogs is … I get charging for people. But for dogs, it is a bit of a mug off. The sign posting could be better. But it is a nice place for a quiet day out.

Visited for a company event recently. Nicely maintained grounds with some great outdoor art installations. I find the entrance fees a bit steep but can understand it as it takes quite some effort to keep the place nice and tidy. Dogs should really come in for free, the entry fee for them is not justified.

We had a lovely afternoon wandering around. It is a beautiful place with lots of paths that wynd around the exhibits. I'm not particularly into art installations but this was well worth a visit if you pick a nice day. The dog enjoyed it but hasn't given me the £7 entry fee!

What a wonderful natural oasis. My family and I visited Juniper Artland via bus, which was simple enough. T he bus stop is literally right across the street when coming and and to your right when leaving juniper artland gates.
The public transportation aspect made it an easy day trip. To enter you walk down this walkway that cars can also drive down that's lined with trees on both sides. You walk to a little hut where you are greeted by an attendant who checks your ticket and gives you a map of the place to self explore.
This is a visual paradise that brings such calmness to your soul. There are wild goats & horses. The swirl hills were fun and I believe certain days of the week (with a separate ticket) you can swim in the pools in the swirl hills.
The goats were kind and didnt mind you being close to them. We were able to pet a few with no worries of them being upset. We did also respect their space when they chose to move away.
We walked all of the attractions and ended up at the restaurant and snack bar where we ordered the most delicious cinnamon roll, coffee, hot chocolate and sausage roll to have lunch.
We found the additional pool (which also needs a separate ticket) and ate in the cocktail lounge thats in the same space as the pool. We also did the art workshop where we used random bits and pieces to make an art structure.
We ensured we tidied up behind ourselves and thanked the staff. The pool is a neat design and I believe its saltwater.
Please mind the signs around the property that asks for respect to certain entrances and other important instructions.
This place is such a treat to visit.
