A beautiful explanation of local favorites. We ordered several items on the menu. Every dish was amazing. The service was friendly and attentive. The hostess get a thumbs up from me.
June 2026 update / CAUTION - $452+$56 food and drink tab THEN all our drinks were pulled from the table due to TABC rules since it was 15 past closing , at 8pm. Who closes at 8 pm with a full menu service ? TABC says all drinks removed by midnight or business parameters. I guess 8pm is the issue here and who is done with slow service hotel-dinner at 8?? A good restaurant here would post this on their Reservation policy that you have to forfeit your alcoholic beverages 15 minutes after we close at 8 (FYI) and we would’ve stopped ordering those an hour before closure except we were offered final rounds before closure at last call and then told after the fact While we still had food on the table. Our guests from Dallas and us, local, probably would’ve not ordered more … Taking a customer's money for a luxury item, knowing they will not be legally allowed to finish it, and then confiscating it without alternative options is incredibly poor business etiquette. Never in our foodie life has this happened much less to $22 servings of whiskey. Unbelievable! We will never go back - this was a first in 30 years. Embarrassed as our guests were in the hotel and could buy beer from the lobby or the beer joint???
They were also Ranch shopping, so we gave them a list in Weatherford and they leave MW today for Weatherford to continue looking and dining within normal parameters. Even without pulling the wine off the table, it’s not an experience worth the premium price you paid to eat in Mineral Wells, Texas and be called hun, pumpkin, sweetie and this one made us laugh - babe. The chef has excellent design and food options, its the overall experience impacting that expertise. Going back becomes difficult as it has not met the mark since my first review 7 months ago. Cold hamburger patty last night. On fries checked Sunday the thighs were not done all the way, on happy hour once we were charged regular drink prices because we “ordered” the wrong one or something. In the end it’s not worth potential frustration. Eat a Chilis. You know what you get there for half the price. And that pains me to even say.
Old review was …
We loved Second Bar. I was concerned. Now, excited. A great transformation with a fantastic menu. Lots of unique options and great flavors. Who needs to DFW for dinner ? No one. It’s here in Mineral Wells.
This was an excellent one of a kind experience for my wife and I. We celebrated our 21st anniversary here at dinner where Chef Stefon brought us so many tasty appetizers, main course and desserts that we left feeling 5 stars is not enough for this place and the skillset to make it this delicious!
If you find yourself in Mineral Wells, it’s completely worth eating dinner here. They make all their own sauces and the tomahawk pork chop was so good! Tater tots that take you back to your childhood but they are 4x the size! I can’t rave enough about all of it.
Keep crushing it!
