In June 2026, the popular Korean coffee chain "Paik's Coffee" opened its first store in Shinbashi, Tokyo, so I went to check it out!
I was expecting a huge and great-value size!
It's less than a 3-minute walk from the Karasumori Exit of Shinbashi Station. It's easy to find; just turn the corner at the FamilyMart and you'll see a yellow sign. It's right next to Karasumori Shrine.
The store name has also been changed from "Paik's Coffee" to "Paik's Coffee," making it clearer that it's a coffee shop.
There were a few congratulatory flowers inside, but there were no promotional posters or anything like that; it had a very simple feel.
The Shinbashi store is take-out only; there are no seats.
Ordering is easy! You can order via the app or touch panel. The touch panel is easy to understand with Japanese text, and it felt very intuitive to order.
I wanted to try various drinks, but I went with a medium-sized iced cafe latte. I received an order number and waited, but it was served very quickly, about 2 minutes later. It was hot and I wanted something to drink right away, so I was happy!
As expected of Korean iced coffee, the size is huge! Even the medium size was about the size of a large in Japan. It was as big as I expected! And it was only 380 yen!! I could drink it all in one go and still have more left, haha.
It was cold and delicious.
Other menu items include hot coffee, iced tea, yuzu tea, cookie crunch pecciano, and many other drinks – so many choices it's hard to decide! They also had gelato.
There's a charge for a plastic bag if you want to take it out.
Also, the paper holder that holds two cups side-by-side, which is a free service in Korea, was a charge in Japan.
Currently, they're giving away a limited-edition navy bag with purchases over 1,000 yen. It's big enough to easily fit two medium-sized cups. It's first-come, first-served, so if you're interested or like limited editions, hurry!
Payment is by credit card or app payment.
VISA, Mastercard, Amex, and UnionPay are accepted.
They plan to add more cards in the future.
I used contactless payment with my credit card.
The iced cafe latte was perfect in both taste and size, but it lacked the festive atmosphere of a new store opening; it felt like it needed a bit more energy.
Also, the watermelon juice I was looking forward to wasn't available...
I would definitely come back if they sold it as a summer-only item. I really hope they do a promotional campaign next year!! I'm looking forward to it! ⭐︎
