We actually had reservations at La Banane but somehow walked into their cocktail bar next door instead. 😂 We didn’t even realize until later but it ended up being a nice surprise!
We ordered the oysters, scallops and 2 glasses of their Pinot Grigio. Everything was fresh and tasty and they also brought us some complimentary bread to start, which was a really nice touch! 🍞
The space itself is beautiful. I loved all the plants and the overall decor.. it feels cozy, modern and perfect for a night out! It was pretty quiet when we went though, around 7 pm on a Thursday, so the atmosphere felt a little flat. The lighting was also quite dim, which added to the intimate vibe but made the place feel even quieter.
The best part of our visit was definitely the service. I didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was amazing. She was so friendly, attentive and made us feel really welcome the whole time😄
Even though we accidentally ended up at the cocktail bar instead of the restaurant, we had a great experience. I’d definitely come back for drinks and some small bites
Came here for a birthday dinner and left so satisfied with the service, food and atmosphere.
The Mushroom dish was a standout surprise favourite. And the Eurobass was amazing.
Thank you so much Alex for the best service we've had in a long while.
We will be coming again!
We had a wonderful dinner at La Banane. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The lamb neck was the standout dish of the evening. It was incredibly tender, rich in flavour, and beautifully prepared. We also really enjoyed the pasta, which was perfectly cooked and very satisfying. Dessert was excellent as well and was a great way to finish the meal.
The steak was the only dish that didn’t quite reach the same level as the others. That said, La Banane doesn’t position itself as a steakhouse, so if steak is what you’re after, you might prefer a restaurant that specializes in it.
Overall, the quality of the food, combined with the exceptional service and lively atmosphere, made for a great dining experience.
We chose La Banane tonight to celebrate my mom’s 55th birthday, and it was the absolute perfect choice. We shared a spread of the hokkaido scallops, mussels, venison tartare, lamb neck, beef tenderloin, pomme aligot, and finished the evening with the banana gâteau with salted caramel ice cream. Every bite of each dish was truly a delectable experience, and the service carried the night with the same care. Sylvain guided the evening with warmth, and an effortless attentiveness that made us feel un-rushed and truly looked after; he made the night the experience that it was. We left more than satisfied, content, and grateful for a celebration that felt intimate, joyful, and truly memorable.
Oh! And the house-made brioche buns with whipped butter are the perfect, mouth melting amuse bouche to start your experience at La Banane.
Came here with friends during the summer and the food was delicious! The restaurant has a really cute patio in the back and it was nicely decorated. We ordered some oysters and the rest of the food we had was scrumptious. The service was okay. I felt like it could have been better. Our server didn't check up on us as often and we had to wait quite a while if we wanted to order more drinks. Overall, I recommend coming here as the food is good.
