The Coach House

We stopped in on our way back from a day out in Glendalough for some food. The staff were amazing. So accommodating and welcoming. There was a French gentlemen who looked after us very well. Food choice is great. Everyone enjoyed their meals. A big thank you to the staff for such an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend.

Myself, my husband and 3 children ate here over the weekend Food was good/ok but we felt very overpriced 3 x burgers, 1 x risotto and one kids pasta with a round of 4 minerals, 2 beers and 2 gins 204e all in Included the automatic service charge which is very cheeky-you aren't going to be that one person in a restaurant who declines to pay it, even though you claim it's discretionary. Service wasn't great , repeatedly had to try and get the servers attention. Kids meal-we were never offered the juice which was included in the price. Much too overpriced for the service provided €8.43 for a pint of Heineken when you add in the service charge.

Ate there on a Monday night with my husband. They don’t open the full restaurant on Monday and Tuesday so we ate in the bar. It was a little casual but still lovely. I had the marinated watermelon with toasted almonds, cherries and whipped cheese. It was heavenly! I picked the veg risotto for my main and it looked amazing, with wild flowers on it! It was a bit creamy so very filling for me and so only ate half of it. I liked it but did not love it. My husband loved his chicken liver pate, and then his Italian meatballs. He had two pints of pale ale and I had a delicious ( but expensive! €16 !) glass of Prosecco and a glass of the house white( around €8) that was lovely and crisp and dry. We gave feedback that the €16 for the Prosecco was a bit steep. And they said they would pass that back to management. We would both go back again and dine in the main restaurant.

Recently went for a birthday meal. Service was brilliant. Waiters were pleasant and friendly. Starters were stunning. Mains arrived , asked for vinegar for the cod which looked crispy an tasty. Used tge vinegar to realise, flys had entered the bottle. Waiter was apologetic for the mishap. Explained they'd change it. When new dish arrived was half the size of the first peice, batter was soggy an the fish itself was like rubber. I understand it was rushed to get it back out while others ate but I'd rather not have it rushed an edible fish served. However I would return again to give it another try some other Sunday. Staff are pleasant. Great location. Would recommend 👌
