Superb fine dining restaurant. Best Peking duck I've ever had. And other dishes were also fantastic. Very well priced for a such high end restaurant. No wonder they have achieved Michelin guide awards for so many consecutive years. Highly recommended
This was probably the best meal in Beijing for me. Every dish was so well executed. The duck was exquisite and had a unique after taste in a good way, likely from the smokiness of the wood it was cooked in.

Located in the heart of Beijing, The Horizon Restaurant offers a contemporary take on classic Cantonese and Beijing cuisine, with a particular focus on traditional dishes prepared with modern finesse. The atmosphere blends understated elegance with a lively dining room, making it a popular choice for both locals and travelers seeking an elevated yet approachable dining experience. During my visit, I enjoyed what was undoubtedly the best Peking duck of my entire journey through China — perfectly roasted, beautifully carved, and served with exceptional attention to texture and flavor. The skin was crisp, the meat tender, and the accompaniments thoughtfully balanced, showcasing the kitchen’s impressive mastery of this iconic dish. While the food was outstanding, the service felt somewhat relaxed and at times not as attentive as one might expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Nevertheless, the overall experience remained highly enjoyable, especially considering the excellent value for money. With superbly executed dishes and a price‑to‑quality ratio that is hard to beat in Beijing, The Horizon Restaurant is well worth a visit for anyone seeking an authentic yet refined taste of the city’s culinary heritage.

I have had eaten Peking Duck all around the world, but I have never eaten one like in this restaurant.
I was surprised that the first few bites actually melt in your mouth. When it’s piping hot, eat the first few pieces with sugar. It will melt in the most aromatic flavor of smoked apple wood duck flavored.
Most impressive.
The fish and soup were also very impressive.
Highly recommended to try when coming to Beijing

We came here for Christmas Eve dinner and ordered many things. The hostess spoke English and was very sweet. Once you sit down, you're given traditional Chinese 'welcome tea' that is pleasantly warm and sweet. We began our meal with century quail eggs. We expected four or five but were surprised with a bowl of ~15! They were dressed with a deliciously sour sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro and thinly sliced spicy pepper. We continued our meal with a tofu stew. This was my favorite part! The broth had a salty-nutty flavor and the tofu had a nice chew. Another highlight of the meal was the Peking duck. Carved tableside and accompanied by hoisin sauce, scallions cut into brushes, and thin wheat-flour pancakes and steamed buns, it was truly tasty. We also ordered some Sichuan chicken and fried rice. For dessert, we had mango sago - a sweet end to a great meal!
