Great stop over coming from that side of town. Make sure you book in advance for lunch and also have 3hours to spare for the ultimate experience as you’ll be take out in the garden to appreciate everything they do/advocate. Takeaways are also available if you’re in a rush for you next destination.
The Agrarian kitchen is an experience like none other. This has been the highlight of my trip to Tasmania. I have never experienced such an authentic garden to plate meal where every flavour was flawless and perfectly matched the majority of the wine pairing. While initially the price seems to be expensive, experiencing the set meal, you will understand why it has been priced in this way. This is absolutely value for money with the self guided tour of their gardens, greenhouse, kitchen and amazing front of house staff (props to Isabelle, who made the experience extraordinary. Her passion and insight into the food and wine was second to none. Her love for her job shone in the way she held herself during our interactions). The back of house staff are talented in their own right, creating many different flavour profiles not found elsewhere, but purely from their gardens! And we can't forget the gardeners, who manage and maintain such a large acreage. A job well done to everyone involved!!! 100 percent would definitely recommend to others!
An unforgettable dining experience—the best my partner and I have ever had.
From the moment you step into the greenhouse for the first course, surrounded by the very produce that will appear throughout the meal, Agrarian Kitchen feels magical. The dining room is beautifully spaced, lined with freshly picked flowers from the garden and shelves of jewel-toned pickled vegetables. A window into the serene kitchen offers a glimpse of the care and craft behind every dish—whether it’s artichoke hearts being seared to perfection or pickled lemon miso being delicately placed alongside creamy burrata.
The staff are warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about every component on the plate. For the most joyful experience, I’d recommend not reading the menu at all—let each course arrive as a delightful surprise. Truly exceptional in every way.
They have a Restaurant and a Kiosk, we visited the Kiosk.
Great food, casual vibe, picnic tables/blankets on a grassy lawn (lots of people with well behaved dogs).
You order your meal from the Kiosk inside, then head out with your tray, collect your cuttlery, napkins and a glass of water from a table just inside the porch. When you are finished take your tray up to the sorting station and put each items in its section before leaving.
Very Good garden/paddock to plate experience, local produce and a great part of the New Norfolk community.
The Kiosk is open on the weekend (Sat/Sun).
It's a bit pricey but we'll woth it, we had the Lamb sausage roll and the quiche, we would have gone back for a bit of carrot cake but the line was 15 people deep.
Definitely recommend getting in early.
Easily the best food experience of our life!
My husband and I loved every detail. They even catered a couple of things to my dietary requirements and it was just perfect.
We had the best experience and we can’t recommend this place enough!
