🥐 The Food & Drink
The Highlights: The craftsmanship here is undeniable. The pastries are truly excellent, flaky, and beautifully executed, pairing perfectly with their top-tier coffee menu.
The Strategy: High quality breeds high demand. This bakery is incredibly popular, and lines routinely wrap around the exterior of the building. It is highly recommended to get here early, as most baked goods were nearly sold out by 11:00 AM.
☀️ Space & Comfort Considerations
While the artisanal items are superb, there are a few practical elements to keep in mind, especially for families:
Seating: The indoor dining area is quite small, and outdoor seating is limited to just a few chairs.
The Climate: Standing in the long exterior queue can get very hot under the intense summer mountain sun.
Value: The pricing reflects its premium artisan status, leaning on the pricier side.
An outstanding destination for serious pastry and coffee lovers. Just arrive early to secure the best selection!
One of the best coffee shops I’ve visited! The staff was very friendly even when we walked in with a large group close to closing time. They were very personable and we didn’t feel like we were being rushed to leave. The atmosphere was lovely and you can tell that it’s a local favorite! They have a simple menu offering yet the pastries are perfectly flaky and the coffee was delicious! And above all else the service stood out to us and we will definitely visit again!
Maybe the best croissant I’ve had in a very long time! Beautiful, delicious, and incredibly fresh.
Savory options, sweet options; everything was amazing!
Pastries were delicious and atmosphere was nice. I did take out once (cinnamon roll, berry danish, and ham + cheese croissant) and dine in (pain au chocolate and cherry tomato danish) the next day. They were pricey, around $8-9 each but very well made.
All food is served room temperature which really means cold. They cannot warm anything for you. I’m not sure what they expect to be tipped for. There is no table service. Seating area is cramped. Frequent loud beeping amazingly drowns out the otherwise slightly too loud music. My daughter had a cinnamon roll which was ice cold. She didn’t even want to finish it. She tried to feed her leftovers to the local crows and they ate a little piece and left all the rest. The biscuit might have been good if it wasn’t cold and the Kouign-amann was good but also would have benefited from not being cold. Flat white was good. Our baguette was over baked to the point of being burnt on the edges. If you are looking for a bakery with a nicer atmosphere and well made items served at the right temperature you should head south on Main Street to the French bakery.
