We ate lunch here. Lovely decor and attentive staff. Sandwich and fries was OK. I had to rate the rooms to leave a review but I didn't go in them. My friend couldn't eat the ham and picalilli sandwich - too much picallili. Handy for the town centre, nice atmosphere. I'd try the chicken and bacon sandwich next time as that looked the best.
Exceeded our expectations perfect location to explore this stunning city, we visited the castle, museum and beautiful park.
The rooms were spotless with special touches (welcome truffles, the children and I loved) the staff made the stay, always pleasant and professional but the finale was the food. We enjoyed an evening meal with the bonus of live music in the bar area, this didn't distract from the evening and was a perfect balance, each dish was excellent and the clientele was guests and locals.
Will definitely be returning, a huge thank you for an enjoyable weekend!
Used the restaurant only. Every time food is great and service is very good too.
Booked the afternoon tea for my mom's birthday that was also mother's day. Again, food was great. All the items were perfectly cooked and baked, all tasted so great. My toddler's food was also very well served and delicious.
Just a bit upset that we were given a smal table that is supposed to be for 2x people when we were 4x plus a pram where my newborn stayed most of the time. We had to get rid of a lot of extra table assets in order to fit the afternoon tea for 3x people. We booked this a 6 weeks in advance. Could have been offered a better sit.
Fabulous location, great staff, so helpful and accommodating. Rooms very comfortable. Breakfast offered great options all cooked to order. Dinner had super fresh choices. Highly recommend. Book parking with the hotel if available, reasonable and so accessible.
Stayed here for 3 nights and was extremely disappointed. After reading the reviews, I expected one of the best hotels in Lancaster, but my experience was very different.
The biggest issue was the bathroom. The shower door was badly damaged, not attached properly at the bottom, and wouldn't close correctly, causing the entire bathroom floor to become soaked after only a few minutes of showering. There was also a drain cover missing, with hair visibly trapped in the drain. The shower tray itself was in terrible condition, covered in lots of small holes and severe damage, as if it had been repeatedly punctured. The room itself wasn't much better. My room door was wide open when I arrived, which wasn't a great first impression. The carpet was lifting in places and creating ripples, and there were scuff marks all over the walls. There was also a second locked door inside the room, which I'm sure was for storage or maintenance access, but it still felt a little unsettling.
To be fair, the rest of the hotel looked okay, and perhaps I was just unlucky with the room I was given. But for a 4 star Hotel that is a complete joke and lack of care. I hope management sees this and renovates it, because the condition of that room falls far below what I was expecting. Room 20
