A really cool and modern vibe.
Younger crowd that are chilling and catching up. Some people on laptops too but also some with a book and enjoying a drink and a pastry.
The Americano was lovely. Clean tasting and a good quality bean.
The matchas the family ordered were fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, pretty standard.
The danishs / pastry's were fabulous though...
We had a croissant and a peach one. The outside was crunchy and the inside filled so well and full of flavour. Really great quality and you can clearly see why people come here for them, baked freshly.
Definitely recommend.
Ignore the negative reviews! We came for brunch and were seated straight away, there are plenty of tables. The croissants were insanely good, so crispy and better than I've had in France. The carrot juice was 🤌 The decor is very cool, love the giant light.
Such an intriguing place… I was curious to go because of the good looking coffee, mixed reviews (and hilarious responses I can’t wait to see what this post gets).
We only went for coffee which you don’t need to queue for, but pastries or any food or sit-down service you will need to. In London you can get a coffee 2 minutes from ordering, I waited 20 for mine but didn’t mind because the restaurant area is lovely to look at (I’d be intrigued to eat here) and I also enjoyed checking out the pastries (although couldn’t be bothered to queue to get one so went to the bakery on the next street).
The coffee wasn’t to my liking because the beans were too light but that’s a preference, can’t hold it against them. Also great they did oat milk as hardly anywhere did! I will say that €4,50 for a coffee felt insane when so many other places were €1 or €2. But €4,50 is the same for coffee in London so.
Overall an interesting trip. I didn’t feel a huge amount of welcoming or service from the staff but they weren’t unpleasant either.
Wow didn’t realise this place was so controversial until after we’d already gone for breakfast AND dinner. 😂 in short: if you’re visiting Bologna and are on the fence whether you should spend one of your meals at this place, I say DO IT! We went for breakfast, staff were perfectly friendly, we were seated almost immediately and our coffee and pastry came a little after (10 min which I don’t think is bad). We loved the atmosphere, the dark walls and the tall ceiling and decided we had to come back for dinner.
We booked for the same evening. Again super friendly and easygoing.
Dinner deserves its own paragraph. It was definitely up there with some of the best food we’ve had while in Bologna. It was all the classics but just elevated. The staff were EXTREMELy attentive, always asking if we were happy and whether the food was good, etc. That’s exactly why even though it’s more pricy than most other places we went, we highly recommend it. It’s just nice to see the food local to the region and town served at a new level.
Hope everyone has the same positive experience as we did 😅 maybe the direct and bold replies to customer comments are part of their marketing strategy? All I can say is that they don’t match the friendly faces and staff we encountered while there..
Good place for a pastry and coffee, the price is a bit high (for what you can find in Italy) even if the product seems to be of good quality! If you come early, you will find a spot directly! Service was a bit weird and robotic, should probably be better with at least a smile!
