It's known for its quick service, generous portion sizes, and a clean dining environment, making it a popular spot for both dine-in and takeout.
Customer Perception
Customer feedback is generally positive, highlighting the delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, and quick service. Many appreciate the large portion sizes, making meals last for multiple sittings. Specific favorites include bao buns, cucumber salad, sauteed green beans, and wontons in chili sauce. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies, with one customer finding the shrimp egg fried rice bland and missing an extra egg.
The restaurant offers a variety of menu items beyond dumplings and bao, including pan-fried items, appetizers, noodles, fried rice, and soups. They also offer party trays and frozen dumplings for customers to prepare at home.
The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Given its casual nature and focus on quick service, it's suitable for lunch or dinner any day of the week.

My dad was craving shrimp fried rice so I was searching in a place in Vallejo for take out and thought I’d try 88 baobao’s. I called in and it was easy to place an order. I ordered shrimp fried rice, sauteed green beans, popcorn chicken, and a side of cucumbers. My order was ready in 10-15 mins for pick up. Service was quick. This was my first time ordering from this location, I didn’t even order any baos sio mai or dumplings but I tried them at other locations. They have indoor seating and the food has huge portions to serve lots of people and last for multiple meals. Located in the Gateway Plaza across from Vallejo Costco, so there’s plenty of parking. Located next to Ulta and quickly.
Just ordered a basic egg fried rice with shrimp and extra eggs and I don’t understand how they still managed to miss the mark so badly.
When a dish that should be flavorful, aromatic, and simple comes out bland, it feels like the kitchen didn’t even try.
And the missing extra egg just adds insult to injury, because that’s not a subtle detail; it’s literally the core of the dish.
I don’t understand how a restaurant such as 88 BaoBao can get something so basic so wrong!
Delicious! My son and I absolutely love the food. Served hot, fresh, perfectly cooked. The chow mein and pork steamed buns were awesome. The table is set with garlic sauce, vinegar and delicious house chili oil. Service was great and the place was very clean. The prices are great, too! Can't wait to go back.
It's not really my style this was my wife's choice to go here but i said hey i love to try new places to eat and it did just open up in Vallejo so maybe it will become a regular lunch and dinner spot or us. I must say the fried rice was delicious! The spicy dumplings were very very good! But we definitely will be going back to this place because it was clean and quality and not really over priced at all. 5 stars for food quality!
They have two locations, one in Vacaville and the second in Vallejo. This quaint restaurant located in the shopping center had plenty of parking space. It is directly across from the Panera bread to the front and across from a Tesla car dealership.
Their soup dumplings seemingly steam while you wait. The traditional soup dumpling (pork) is quite good, which I recommend. Their noodle dishes were quite delicious.
In this occasion, I wanted to try their beef noodle soup and chilli Oil dumplings. The foods were plentiful. It filled me up completely even though I was quite Hungary.
Overall, this was my second visit to this Vallejo location.
