Food was pretty good. I got the pork belly boa and the fried chicken boa. Both were really tasty. Two coming in and order and it’s about $18 per plate. So about $36 for four boas . Pretty expensive. But I understand New York City prices and rent can be high. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon. There were no customers and it was pretty quick. I sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty cool. So for, four Baos and one beer it was about $50 for one person for lunch. Seemed pretty expensive for me. The pork belly boa was pretty good. The buns were super fluffy. The pork was super fatty, could’ve been rendered down a little bit more. The chicken was also pretty good. But the price to value ratio wasn’t there for me.
Overall disappointed in this place. Food was OK (bao were fine, but nothing special) but small portions and overpriced. Outside seating was cramped and crowded. And servers tried their best but were not very attentive. Not sure I'll be coming back. On a high note, I was impressed they had a Slyvaner white wine.

The drinks were flowing on a nice hot Saturday. Years ago, I stumbled into Baohaus on 14th street and made it my home.
The chairman bao and the taro fries were good substitutes for me vs. the standard hamburger and fries. I was sad to discover one day that Eddie decided to close that location.
Years later, I’m happy to see the Baohaus has returned to NYC with an expanded menu and new location.
Ordering numerous drinks with a friend today our only concern was the dryness on the Chairman bao.
Happy to see you back Eddie and the whole staff.

A place with unique, delicious baos!
I enjoyed the birdhaus baos (which had crispy fried chicken with aioli) and the chairman baos (which had a nutty, sweet pork belly slices). Wasn’t the biggest fan of the Taiwanese wagyu brisket noodle soup, though. I also think it’s a bit pricey.

I love this Sunday afternoon late lunch / early dinner outdoor in the sun. The food is super tasty and the service was super wonderful. The vibe is just perfect in East Village. yum yum yum
