Bibliotheque is an absolute gem, especially if you're looking for a comfortable spot to knock out some remote work! The setup is incredibly accommodating—there is tons of comfy seating and lots of accessible outlets so you're never scrambling for a charge. They do cap their (blazing fast) internet connection at 90 minutes, but honestly, that makes total sense. If they didn't, I would probably camp out here for hours, lol.
The drink selection is fantastic. The coffee is genuinely good with plenty of options to choose from, but the real standout for me was the vanilla mimosa—you absolutely have to try it!
Beyond the great workspace, the atmosphere is top-tier. It is perfectly located right in the heart of gorgeous clothing stores and surrounded by beautiful people, making it an amazing spot to just sit and take in the surroundings.
To top it all off, the staff is wonderful. Everyone was extremely nice, super helpful, and actually greeted me with bright smiles—which, let's be real, is delightfully unique for an NYC coffee shop, lmao. I highly recommend checking this place out!
This place is truly a gem. We stopped in for drinks and ended up having such a great time. The atmosphere is beautiful, think cozy, tucked-away library vibes with books everywhere, soft lighting, and just the right amount of buzz. It feels intimate and private, but still lively.
It’s perfect for a post-work drink or a date night. We grabbed a corner seat in the back, which made it feel even more special. The food was excellent, the cheese selection and everything we tried was delicious.
They also have a great range of both wine and non-alcoholic options, which I really appreciated. Service was attentive and welcoming throughout.
Overall, such a great spot for happy hour or a spontaneous pop-in. I’ll definitely be back.
Can’t believe I got to read a BOOK at the BAR..?? How cool is that. Unfortunately was busy at night and you needed a reservation for the back area. But the bar was beautiful, and workers were very nice, food and drinks were great. Was big and had beautiful art and great books and met nice people.
I came here hoping for coffee, but the hostess told me only the bar menu was available and that coffee wasn’t served. She also gave an eye-rolling attitude, and I probably should have just left, but I didn’t 🥹
I was told I could only be seated if I ordered drinks menu. Fine, I agreed. Then after I was already seated, a server informed me I also had to order food. The entire process felt disorganized, inconsistent, and unnecessarily complicated.
I was there for about 45 minutes, and the whole time I felt pressured. Even while I was still eating and had a drink on the table, staff repeatedly came over asking if I wanted to order more drinks. This kind of constant pressure is uncomfortable and not good hospitality.
To make things worse, the restroom was dirty and there was no toilet paper available.
Overall, the experience felt poorly managed from start to finish. Clear communication, basic cleanliness, and respectful service are missing here. This place seriously needs to improve its staff behavior and overall standards.
A bookstore with a double life! Quiet and atmospheric coffee shop by day but also a sophisticated downtown wine bar by night - Bibliotheque does both beautifully! I’ve visited several times - thoroughly enjoyed quiet coffee and delicious pastry over focused work in the am, wine and a cheese board in the early evening at the bar, and quiet conversations over tinned seafood & cocktails in the lounge - all while surrounded by a sumptuous & brilliantly designed library. And if a book catches your eye - you can buy it! Highly recommended spot for bibliophiles in NYC!! 📚❤️
