Bij-ouch: High-end prices, fast-food treatment. I’ve written over 1,000 reviews of Tel Aviv venues, and this is easily the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve encountered. I’m a huge fan of Eyal Shani’s spots across the city, so I was excited to try Bijoux, even knowing it was built on a tight 50-minute turn time. The concept, however, completely falls apart in execution. Instead of seating us so we could order a glass of wine under the AC, the team insisted we stand outside in the Tel Aviv heat and lightrail & synagogue construction dust to fill out our paper order form. The manager made it clear: "You order outside, and only when the food is ready do you get seated." Even ordering at McDonalds at the airport is a better customer experience. Treating high-paying guests like a number on a deli counter ticket while keeping them waiting on the sidewalk isn't a "cool new concept"—it's plain disrespectful. If you want guests to embrace a quick-turn handroll bar, you let them sit down, give them a drink, and create a hospitable environment while they order. And simply add 10min to the reservation time. We walked out before spending a single shekel and went around the corner to Pereh, where we received top-tier service, incredible food, and actual hospitality. Or at Cue I've been treated with a glass of wine while waiting for my company being late. Bottom line: Until they fix this process and start treating guests with basic comfort and respect, save your time and money. There are far better options in the neighborhood. @Eyal: I hope you fix it before you hear if personally from me when I stumble into you somewhere.
