This was our first time dining at Bistro George (located on the first floor of Jackson on George — pub on the ground floor, fine dining upstairs, and a rooftop above), and we discovered it through the EatClub app. What an amazing find.
We started with the Yellowfin tuna tartare with avocado, furikake, yuzu kosho and crisp wonton, and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, balanced, and beautifully presented.
For mains, I had the Steak Frites – Westholme wagyu eye fillet 5+ (220g) cooked medium. I’d heard wagyu is best enjoyed medium so the fats melt through the meat, and wow… it was perfect. Tender, juicy, and melt‑in‑your‑mouth. My friend ordered the fish of the day, and it was cooked flawlessly as well.
We shared a tiramisu for dessert, and the waiter kindly gave us a generous portion since we were sharing — such a thoughtful touch.
The customer service was fabulous. Every waiter was cheerful, smiley, and genuinely welcoming. The ambience is lovely too — ideal for date night or a girls’ night out.
Pricing was actually fair even without the EatClub discount, which was a pleasant surprise. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.
Highly recommend Bistro George — a beautiful space, wonderful service, and excellent food.
What a hidden gem on level 1 of Jackson’s on George. Bistro George is a lovely venue with great decor.
Ended up here after a work colleague booked, and was thankful we did. The service was great, and food was even better. Everything we ate was delicious, including the two entrees and the main steak Florentine pictured. Melt in your mouth steak, absolutely delicious.
Can’t wait to go back, a surprise venue I can highly recommend.
Perfection 👌 We were a group of six and shared three entrees, had one main of pasta each and finished our meal sharing three desserts 🍨 with cocktails and wine in between. For Sydney, at $110 per head, it was very good value for the quality of food and service. I wish we had asked for the names of the staff so a big thank you 🙏 to everyone working the evening shift on the 12th. We appreciated your patience with us asking you to take all the photos for us and have a memorable night. We would definitely be coming back and recommend others to do so.
What a fantastic evening we had at Bistro George. Starting off with the exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. Super friendly throughout the evening and elegantly professional. The atmosphere was fantastic but I am leaving the best for last. Our dinner was superb. Trying various courses of entree’s and deciding on a shared Westholme Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, 800g QLD GF for our main. Absolutely perfection. And enough for the four of us. We included several beers to start and a lovely bottle of wine and the bill still came in at a pleasant price. Thanks to all the management and staff. I highly recommend giving BG a go.
Fantastic restaurant; & service
Great menu; all dishes well executed and use high quality produce. Northern Irish Chef who is passionate about quality and consistent execution. Well executed dishes with classic technique with a bit of Irish twist thrown n eh the most divine potato bread, gravlax and treacle and Guinness bread you will come across. A menu to suit all palates and vegetarian options. Comprehensive and well chosen wine list.
This is my fourth visit to this restaurant - it delivers to an exceptional standard every single time. Wish this restaurant was busier as they truly deserve to be full every service.
We had a friend visiting Sydney from Ireland - head chef Stephen came out to our table to introduce himself and also prepared an Irish style mash as a comp to go with our mains. Incredible - it made our week.
