Amazing, quaint cozy, local bakery serving creative full breakfast & lunch options starring their fresh baked bread. Excellent friendly & efficient service. We loved the Beans on Toast and the Egg-in-a-Jar. Both were savory, elevated and delicious. We finished breakfast with one of their decadent macaroons and washed it all down with the local Handlebar Roasters coffee. Can't wait to go back.
Hi there!
Well. I am obsessed with this bread. I shall admit that I am a bread snob and bread is my favorite food and yes I did drive over 3 hours twice in the past couple weeks to visit here. 😂 I won’t shut up about this bread! The people are friendly and the vibe is great and the roses covering the patio are stunning… but back to the bread. They toast it perfectly. I ordered the Egg-in-a-frame # 1 both times and I wake up dreaming of it often. If only y’all were in Hermosa Beach. 😉 I see many road trips in my future.
Thank you!
with ♥️, a very happy bread lover

My wife and I were excited to try Bob’s during one of our recent trips to Los Olivos/Solvang. We’d heard great things and, as a baker and avid breakfast maker myself, I was especially looking forward to trying their breakfast.
While the vibe is great and the staff were friendly, we unfortunately didn’t love the food. We both ordered the breakfast sando with the housemade biscuit and turkey sausage, but were disappointed by the lack of flavor and the overall dryness.
The turkey sausage was pretty flavorless and tasted more like a bland burger, and the sandwich as a whole definitely needed more of a “kick.” Some aioli or another sauce would have gone a long way.
The coffee was fine, although my traditional macchiato was straight foam and the espresso was bitter.
The pistachio cookie was delicious though!
Maybe it was just an off day? We’re glad we gave it a try, but we’ll stick with some of our other local breakfast spots on our next trip.

I've been to Bob's more times than I’d like to admit and have tried nearly everything on the menu. The food is hit or miss—sometimes great, other times a letdown. The avocado toast is often served on rock-hard bread, and the egg sandwich comes on an exceptionally thick, dense English muffin. Worst of all, the sausage on the breakfast sandy is so ridiculously salty, and apparently, that’s how they intend it to be. I’ve had it three times, and it’s always the same.
As for the specials, I've tried about five different sandwiches, and the Italian was by far the best.
Regarding the staff, I’ve read some mixed reviews, but I’ve only been helped by Bob once in my 20 visits, and it was an entirely fine experience. However, the wait times for food are absurd, and it’s not just on busy days. I have to assume they’re making the bread from scratch for every order, it takes that long.
The coffee is decent, and I actually enjoy it.

Visited twice, 5 stars for our first visit, loved their baguette, blueberry scone (instead of fresh they used dried blueberry, which surprisingly tasted even better, was sweet, tart and juicy!) and our coffee! But can only give 3 stars for our second, think they have some consistency issue. The cappuccino from our second visit tasted like it’s made by a machine on auto mode. The cherry chocolate scone was not comparable to the blueberry one in terms of flavor (tho it’s likely just a personal preference), and the oatmeal raisin cookie’s a bit stale.
