An Antwerp-based Israeli food chain that closed due to hate messages and boycotts related to its association with Tel Aviv and Israel. At its height, it operated four restaurants and produced a popular cookbook.
Boker Tov is a Mediterranean all-day diner in Antwerp, evolving from a deli concept. It offers simple, shareable Mediterranean and Israeli-inspired food, served from morning to evening. The establishment has been noted for its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, and at one point operated as a small chain across Belgium, even producing a popular cookbook.
Customers consistently praise Boker Tov for its fresh, delicious food, welcoming staff, and vibrant atmosphere. Dishes like hummus, falafels, babaganush, and the schnitzel sandwich are frequently highlighted as tasty and well-prepared with generous portions. Many appreciate the comfortable, no-nonsense environment and the convenience of its opening hours for after-work visits. While generally positive, one review expressed strong political criticism regarding the authenticity of its 'Israeli' food, claiming it was 'stolen from the arabs' and lacked real taste.
Additional Details
Boker Tov was part of a small chain that once included four restaurants across Belgium and published a cookbook. The restaurant has faced challenges, including hate and boycott, but recent customer reviews indicate it is operational and thriving.

What a beautiful experience at Es Balagan. 💗
From the moment the first dishes arrived, you could feel the passion, warmth, and love that Tom and Lori pour into every detail. The appetizers were absolutely incredible: the fresh labneh, the hummus with grapes, and the freshly baked bread that was fluffy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, with just the right touch of salt. Simple ingredients elevated through care and craftsmanship.
The king crab croquettes were unforgettable, the pulpo was perfectly prepared, the falafel delicious, and the meats outstanding. What impressed me most was the freshness and quality of every ingredient and the way each dish was presented. There is a beautiful balance between authenticity and fine dining. Nothing feels forced or pretentious. Instead, every plate tells a story and reflects their identity, their roots, and their genuine love for food and for bringing people together.
It was a feast not only for the mouth but also for the eyes.
Even the desserts won me over, which says a lot because I’m usually not a big dessert person. The freshness, creativity, and attention to detail continued from the first bite to the very last.
I left feeling like I was floating on clouds, grateful to have been invited to experience so much deliciousness, generosity, and love. Thank you, Tom and Lori, for creating something so special.
I already can’t wait for my next visit to Es Balagan. ❤️
One of my favorite places in Antwerp.
The food is always fresh and delicious, the people always so nice and welcoming, and the music always make you feel the vibe.
From my experience I totally recommend 👌
Bokr Tov is open again! Had the best schnitzel sandwich, the chicken was extra tender and the portion more than generous. The service is top too! Lots of veggie and meat options for everyone.
Will keep coming back!
Nice place with great food and good people. You feel comfortable walking in the door and taking a seat. This is a no nonsense, great to that you are here place. Would come again especially as it is open until 21.00-22.00 so no rush after work .
“Real” is***li restaurant: all the food is stolen from the arabs and doesn’t have the real taste. The copy doesn’t have value.
I didn’t came here for them, I came for arab food and I made a mistake. This is the first and the last time when I came.
You can guess from the bread of the chicken kebab that something is wrong. Unfortunately, I realised after I order it.
Also, we receive as a snack, sunflower seed and califlower. Strange…
The limonade is home made but it’s the same like a random one from Albert.
The bins from the toilet don’t have a bag, so don’t touch anything :)
The best part was the picture with “made humus, not war”.
