Great ambiance with outstanding service from the entire team at Border Town.
The food was incredibly tasty. The mushroom taco was perhaps the best plant-based taco I've ever had in New York City. The Chorizo and cheese was delicious with just the right kick of heat. The taco of the day was Chicken Tinga which I found to be ample in protein yet flat in taste - until you add the house red salsa which made this taco sing.
The classic and picante margaritas are both deliciously prepared.
Try to arrive before 6PM for the best seating choices. I can attest that the dining room will be full shortly afterwards.
Looking forward to my next visit.
Went around 615 on a Saturday and had no issue getting a table for 2. One thing I wasn’t sure of, but I am here now to confirm: They have corn tortillas on the menu and you can have any taco with corn tortillas or flour!
The chorizo was a little more cinnamon forward than others I’ve had, but I enjoyed it. The shredded pork and potato taco was by far my favorite and was literally insane. I think there are better (fluffier) flour tortillas in the neighborhood (theirs is a little thin?) if you aren’t GF like me, but theirs are made fresh to order.
They have a frozen marg option and all the cocktails we tried were great. The cheesecake was literally insane too.
Expensive, but I cannot wait to go back.

We love Border Town! 🌮🧡🍋🟩🍹
All the tacos are good- don't skip the Frijoles y Queso. Platos Fuertes are great for sharing in the middle of the table.
*Order extra chip if you get the Guacamole, & get extra Tortillas for the table with your dinner mains.
The Orange salsa.
Weekends they have morning breakfast burritos & coffee/espresso.
Jorge & Amanda are the best kind of people. From Jorge's Tortillas during covid, to their pop-up locations before the restaurant- they are such a great part of our Greenpoint neighborhood.

wanna open with the standards- nice staff, great ambiance and all that. the little gem is whack. absolutely no avocado flavor, and it shouldn’t need cheese to taste great or improved. the tacos were the smash hit, but the tortillas we got with the stewed beef were incredibly dry. there were tables that were obnoxiously loud especially after being touched by ownership, which could be great, love to see it, but at the same time as we have to dodge arms reaching next to our heads almost hitting us as they cleared tables made it feel like there was a bit too much noise and movement for a spot like this. will def come back and probably update this, but i won’t let the hype train dictate this review

4 for now, but definitely want to come back for dinner service and what they’ve got! Crab&Shrimp lunch special (on tostada) was real yummy. Service had some minor flaws but I’m not complaining, it was still cute and everyone was extremely friendly. Can’t wait to come back and eat everything on the menu. Chips & guac were tasty too!
