Absolutely wonderfully in every way! THIS is what supporting local is all about! The ambiance is cozy & cute. Perfect place for an afternoon lunch or a date, day or night! The owner is right there, welcoming you from the minute you walk in & tells you about each dish. His wife & he run the place & make all the dishes from scratch. Amazing, authentic dishes like wiener schnitzel with a bowl of spaetzle, covered in an authentic Hungarian "gravy." Cooked to perfection. I had, and highly recommend, the chicken paprikash, served in a bowl with a generous helping of spaetzle, covered in the amazing gravy. Don't be afraid to ask the owner what he suggests, he won't do you wrong! There was NO way I was going to pass up what I had heard was the best homemade desserts but there was no way I could eat another bite! I asked him what his favorite is & I brought home an amazing slice of cake he chose.
Our dishes were served with a fresh slice of toasted bread, another specialty from the talents of his wife!
This had to be the most delicious meal I've EVER had when dining out!
Please, don't let this little gem of 26+ years disappear until all you have left are food chains that all taste alike to choose from!
Take your family for an authentic Hungarian dinner or even for a dessert that they've never heard of but will be talking about for awhile!
This little place won't last forever! Don't miss out on an authentic Hungarian meal. Huge portions! Great, fresh food! Home-made Hungarian dishes that you won't find behind any bright signs or drive-thru restaurants!
Willoughby, Ohio cherish this diamond while it's here! You won't just eat here, you'll escape the outside world for an hour or so and forget everything except the experience of the moment!
If you're traveling on I-90 it is literally just off the exit! Easy off & easy back on guaranteed! It sure beats any truck stop or quick, gray meal at there next exit ramp! Service is fast & friendly too! Truckers, I didn't see any no parking signs in the plaza! Great yourself too an extra 10 minutes and sit down to enjoy your food with an amazing gentleman that will make this one stop a literal home away from home!
Stumbled upon this gem after work. Menu was small but the food was absolutely delicious!
I got the stuffed cabbage and schnitzel! Everything was so good! My favorite was the rice, potato salad and the veggies that came with the schnitzel!
German owned. Everything was homemade! I'll definately be back!
the food was great, the decor was cute,
and the service was quick and kind! highly recommend the European breakfast. We missed the famous Matt (a regular) by 30 minutes, but our server Brandon was very personable and kind -- even giving us a plate of crepes on the house. love supporting a local spot!
Best chicken paprikash i ever had and I am Hungarian. The food is homemade and the desserts too. Johann, the owner, greets you and makes you feel like you are at home. Very personable. The atmosphere reminds me of my days being stationed in Germany and going to the local restaurant. Be patient getting your food, cause once you do, it is the BEST. No doubt. We will be back again. The 1 hour trip is worth it.
Stopped in because it was right next door after dropping off a package at the UPS store. I'd never been here before, but the moment I walked in I was immediately greeted and treated like a regular. The server (I unfortunately don't remember his name) was extremely helpful and offered a lot of information on their menu and offerings. The Wiener Schnitzel w/Spaetzle and Gravy was amazing and the mocha coffee was extremely good.
I will definitely be coming back to this place.
