Barbet and Pals feels like some boho mountain living room reimagined as a serious bar. From drinks to food, you would keep coming back if you have been once.
Gol-Gol Bread arrives with Chilli Fennel Butter and Nolen Gur Butter, a pairing that swings between heat and caramel with disarming ease. Mrs. Barbet, Rana’s personal dish, chicken satay with desi chimichurri and a caramelised onion foam, is comfort food dressed up as craft. I Louve Bombay Fish!, a bombil fry with chutney and Malwani crumble, is the kind of dish that makes you wish every bar took food this seriously.
On the drinks side, the establishment holds very close to their heart, the art of in-house concoctions, from unique mocktails to incredibly concoted GI tag focused homegrown drinks. Gundryani (Jose Cuervo Reposado, Gundryani Cordial, Acid Mix, Pisiyu Loon) is a cocktail that tells you exactly where it comes from, Kumaon, specifically, in its soul. Panache built on Indri Single Malt with Kahwa cordial, saffron tincture, chocolate bitters, and strawberry and cheese soda, is the most ambitious pour on the menu and earns every layer. Cherry On Top and Pals Lugdi, the latter a vodka-forward build of passionfruit, fermented rice, mulberry, and pink peppercorn, round out a list that is, in every sense, a bartender’s bar.
Incredible in-house concoctions like GUNDRYANI and food creations like Mrs. Barbet at Barbet and Pals make the cocktail menu and the kitchen speak the same language.
