Great experience at CHARMINAR Indian Restaurant & Catering – OC. The food is very flavorful and delicious, with bold and authentic spices. One important note: if you prefer mild food, make sure to tell them, as the dishes are naturally quite spicy. Service was fast and efficient, the place is clean and well-organized, and the seating is comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Second time trying indian food, it was fantastic! I tried the veggie samosas, Hyderabadi Chicken Curry, rice and the roti. I loved all of the food but the roti was my favorite. I went out of my way to order stuff I hadn't gotten before and I really enjoyed it. Some of the portions were a bit small for the price, others were great. My only gripe with this place is how long it took for the server to ask us what we wanted, he wasn't busy and it took 10+ minutes to flag him down. Also two of the employees were staring at my friend and I. I will say we did get there an hour before closing, and I was wearing pajama pants, but there was no reason to be glared at like that. Would come back to try again.

Ordered a two piece chicken mandi for $29.99 and these are the pieces that we got. Very unfresh and super small peices. Servers wouldn't take it back. Rice was not fresh at all. Super low standards.

I had a good dine-in experience at Charminar and the food tasted great when eating at the restaurant. However, my takeout/to-go experience has been very disappointing. In my recent order, I received burnt food. I reported it immediately and informed the managers Syed and Vinay, but unfortunately the issue was not resolved. I hope the restaurant improves their takeout quality control and customer service. For now, I recommend customers check their food before leaving when ordering takeout.
