Chatuchak Restaurant is an authentic Thai restaurant in Netanya, Israel, named after the famous Chatuchak market in Bangkok, known for its vibrant food scene. The restaurant features an authentic design, stunning decor, and a cool, inviting atmosphere. It offers a traditional Thai menu alongside a unique pop-up sushi experience.
Customers consistently praise the food for being excellent, tasty, authentic, high-quality, flavorful, fresh, and well-presented, with special mentions for delicious and deep-flavored soups. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere receive high marks for being stunning and cool. Service is often described as attentive and friendly. However, common criticisms include the small portion sizes of main dishes, which many customers feel resemble first-course portions, leading to dissatisfaction and leaving them hungry. There are also complaints about a strict two-hour seating limit, even when the restaurant is not full, which can make the dining experience feel rushed. Minor service issues, such as forgotten takeout items, have also been noted.
The restaurant's name, 'Chatuchak,' pays homage to the renowned Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok, Thailand, which is a hub for diverse goods, aromas, and flavors from across the country. This inspiration is reflected in the restaurant's commitment to authentic Thai cuisine. The restaurant also offers free parking.
The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner. A Saturday lunch was noted as having ample street parking available. Given the strict seating policy mentioned in reviews, making a reservation, especially for dinner or on weekends, is highly advisable.
