We had such a wonderful lunch at Crispin and a huge part of that was thanks to Michael. From the moment we sat down he made us feel completely looked after. He was so attentive and knowledgeable, and took the time to talk us through the wines in such an engaging way that each recommendation felt like a story rather than just a suggestion. You could really tell how much he cares about creating a great experience.
His food recommendations were excellent and everything we ordered was incredible. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully put together and absolutely delicious. The wine we had alongside the meal was also wonderful and complemented everything perfectly.
A huge thank you to Michael for making the lunch feel so special, and to the chefs for such outstanding food. We left already looking forward to coming back!
We had an amazing time here at Crispin, we booked it on a whim and had no idea how good it would be!! I’ve recommended it to everyone I know and am due to come back for a family birthday over the next few weeks. Michael was without a doubt the best waiter we’ve ever had, anywhere. There wasn’t a single thing he didn’t know about the menu or wine list and he gave us brilliant recommendations. Michael was a perfect balance of professional and personable and really make our dining experience special. I honestly cannot recommend Crispin enough, and if you’re lucky enough to be looked after by Michael then I can guarantee you’re in for a real treat.
For the food we started with almost all the small plates on the menu, we had burrata with a delicious artichoke and tomato sauce, goats curd and radicchio, Paxton peppers, pickled vegetables, potatoes and crème fraiche, and even their bread and browned butter was to die for!
We then moved on to the pork with sage and the cavalo Nero pappardelle. I honestly cannot describe how amazing this pasta was, it was delicate but bursting with flavour at the same time! The pork was delicious too, we asked Michael about the flavours and the chef had experimented with a blood orange gravy that had been used in a different dish before. It was incredible!
We finished with the browned butter cake and a scoop of pear ice cream, and old fashioned and a martini. The browned butter cake was out of this world! I’d go back just for that.
The menu is constantly changing but I can guarantee whatever you order will be incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough!
An absolute delight, please take my money good 😀
I was so impressed by the quality of the cooking, the flavours, and very importantly for 2026 – the portion sizes!
We (2 pax) shared six small plates, a whole grilled sole, dessert, and a bottle of natural wine, and it came out to £190. It was a filling meal – the crab meat with salsify appetiser, the padron peppers with sumac, and fried olives were all just beautiful.
The natural wine was also very good, an orange Xarel-Lo from Catalunya.
Interesting little building adjacent to a brand new office building in Spitalfields.
I will be back!
Very unique experience.
They have a frequently changing recipe according to the season. I had the citrus-cured trout and grilled lamb belly. Both very good (recommend trout!) Although the polenta does not match very well with lamb and the flavor of gravy (maybe use gnocchi or soft bread?)
P.S. They will charge each table for 1💷 BELU water donation
The service charge here is 13.5%
I don’t usually get hyped over ice cream because, let’s be honest, London is full of places trying very hard to become “the spot”. But this brown butter soft serve? Different level completely.
Honestly one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had.
The flavour is ridiculously good — rich, nutty, slightly caramelised, buttery in the best possible way without being heavy. It somehow tastes nostalgic and completely new at the same time. Like warm cookies, browned butter, condensed milk and childhood memories all blended into one perfect soft serve.
And the texture…wow. Proper smooth, silky and light. The kind of ice cream where the first spoonful makes everyone at the table go quiet for a second because their brain is trying to process what just happened.
This genuinely feels like the next big summer craze in London. You can already imagine the queues, the TikToks, everyone walking around with these little silver bowls pretending they “just randomly found this place”. No gimmicks, no overcomplicated toppings, no dry ice nonsense — just outrageously good ice cream done properly.
I’m calling it now…brown butter soft serve is about to have its moment this summer. And honestly? Deserved.
Could’ve eaten three and ruined my entire evening quite happily.
