Overall good experience, but the portions are very small and there’s no guaranteed meat dish on the menu, which is pretty disappointing for the price point and set menu presentation.
Large table with bench seating (I really wish I hadn’t worn a dress ) takes up most of the space and the chef comes and gives more background on each of the dishes when each course is served. Food takes a veryyyy long time to prepare. I believe they have a very limited kitchen. Dinner is 4 courses and takes about 2 and a half hours, so plan accordingly. Fish pepper soup was great, but portion of fish is super tiny. We had yam 2 ways with a crawfish sauce which was good. Egusi soup and pounded yam which was great. Caramelized plantain and ice cream for dessert, also good.
From previous reviews and beli posts I was really looking forward to a goat or short rib dish or even the wara cheese, but we unfortunately weren’t served any of those dishes on this night. The menu changes day to day. Our booking was actually moved from last week due to an overbooking error so maybe they had short rib 😭
While the experience was great and it seems like the staff really love food, I cant get past the lack of a meat dish on the set menu. I probably won’t be back given some of the other great set menus in this price point range. Really wanted to love it since it’s been in my beli bookmarks for ages :(
