What a fantastic place! This farm hotel has been lovingly transformed into a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. Being so close to the animals makes the whole experience unique and authentic.
The homemade ice cream is an absolute must, some of the best we’ve ever had! They also offer a great selection of local products, and the steaks from their own cattle are outstanding. We had dinner here on both evenings, and every meal was excellent.
The rooms were spotless, the views were breathtaking, and the breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious. Everything was perfect, and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
We made a perfect pit stop at Efstidalur II during our Golden Circle drive and it quickly became one of the highlights of our Iceland family trip. This family-run dairy farm (operating since the 1750s) offers an authentic farm-to-table experience that’s hard to beat.
The homemade ice cream is world-class—creamy, flavorful, and made fresh from their own dairy cows. We loved sitting in the ice cream barn watching the cows through the glass while devouring our scoops. The flavors are fantastic (highly recommend trying something local like skyr-based or a classic Icelandic one). Massive portions and the perfect sweet treat for the whole family—our boys couldn’t get enough!
We also enjoyed the restaurant food. The burgers (made with their own farm beef) were juicy and delicious, and the soups hit the spot after a day of exploring. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and true to Icelandic farm life. Great value, friendly staff, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Will never get coffee anywhere else in this area again after having theirs.
Stopping here for their amazing ice cream and a coffee is non-negotiable. I haven’t seen coffee of this quality anywhere else in Iceland to be honest.
We were there when they had a bus full of kids there for ice cream and they handled it really well, we were served promptly.

This place was lovely and worth the detour. It's a local farm, serving local products. We had stake of the day (it was ribeye), and burger, both very good. The soup also looked great, you would choose between vegetable and meat soup.
If you like animals, there are tables next to a window from where you can look at the cows. The farm also has horses that you can pet.
Also, downstairs it's an icecream shop, don't miss it!
Beautiful farmhotel. Good restaurant and delicious breakfast and you can see the cows directly from the restaurant. The restaurant stays open after dinner so every guest can have a chance to try their delicious ice cream! The rooms were very spacious.
