Took my dad here for a Father’s Day dinner, and holy moly.
This was not just delicious — this was one of the most unique and special restaurant experience I have ever had.
We ordered our sparkling water from a WATER MENU.
We selected our steak knives from a chest of options (my dad’s was made from the interior of a ‘67 Volkswagen Bug).
The duck fat potatoes were double-fried and among the best bites of food I (and my dad) have ever had.
The lamb ribs were like candy for adults.
The scallops were an absolute honor to enjoy.
My dad said the bread was the best he’s had. I think he wanted to kiss the baker.
And the steak was phenomenal — roasted over an open flame just feet from us. I could practically feel the heat as I dug in.
And we enjoyed it all at the Chef’s Counter, watching and listening to the beautiful show in front of us.
Gwen is sensational in every way. They even sent us home with applewood-smoked salt in silver tins.
My life is better because I dined at Gwen. If only my own children take me here one day…
It’s that environment when at the restaurant the taste of each bite makes you give a small satisfying nod. You close your eyes and breathe out heavily - mumbling “Oh that’s SO good!”
And not only you. It’s a collective act that I have experienced while dinning this evening at Gwen.
I made a terrific choice with this place as they’ve put care and fantastic flavours in all the courses. Alongside a glass of Barbaresco and the flat iron with mouth-melting texture, this evening was delicious beginning to the end.
Chose the Piemonte region after a wine tasting with Country :) hoping that my next time here there will be white truffles season for the menu :)
My most fav was the chicken consommée with shiitake and chives though :) DELICIOUS! But all the appetizers were amazing. On the house also :)
And… the knives selection!! Absolute WOW! I picked Nashville Tennessee origins Damascus steel. Gorgeous and sharp :)
Don’t remember the dessert details but it was delicious and had some cinnamon with it. Hopefully the restaurant will describe it again for us :)
Amazing treatment by Audrey, who carried me through my evening at Gwen, taking the time to explain the dishes and helping me decide. The entire staff was very friendly. Thanks for the wonderful evening!
I loved my meal here, everything was delicious and the service was wonderful! My favorite items were the lobster ravioli (must order), the flat iron steak, and the side of creamed leeks & onions. We ordered a decent amount of food and they paced it out really well even though we had a later reservation time. I would definitely come back again!
Very disappointing experience at Gwen. We ordered tap water since we don’t drink alcohol or soda for health reasons, and the waiter laughed, walked over to talk to the manager, and they both laughed about it. Made us feel judged and looked down on just for not ordering a drink, like we didn’t matter as customers.
Food was just okay overall. The lamb was good, I’d recommend that. The steak tartare was average, I’ve had much better elsewhere. The pasta portion was small for the price.
Won’t be coming back and can’t recommend this place. If you don’t order alcohol or a fancy drink, expect to be treated like a second-class customer.
Walked in at open on Tuesday and was offered seats at the bar, as reservations were booked up. The host was welcoming and our bartender provided excellent service. Everything was impeccably coursed; we received each quickly but nothing felt rushed and each plate was deliciously balanced. I’d recommend this to anyone considering.
