Cafe Nahat's Herzl Street location, also known as Herzl 16, is a popular all-day cafe in Tel Aviv-Yafo known for its relaxed and work-friendly environment.
Herzl 16 feels almost like a secret café. You walk through the arch and suddenly enter a different world: green, aesthetic, and full of well-dressed people.
There is usually a waiting line, but the seating is excellent both indoors and outdoors. I’d pick the little garden for brunch and the indoor space for dinner.
The service repeatedly seemed a bit annoyed with me, although to be fair I do ask a lot of questions and might be a difficult customer.
The food is not extraordinary from what I’ve tried. The sashimi was especially disappointing, with a tiny portion and a surprisingly plain flavor.
The one thing I would come back for without any hesitation is the bread pudding. It is absolutely amazing and easily the highlight of the menu.
More than anything, Herzl 16 is about the atmosphere. It manages to feel pleasant, stylish, and relaxed at the same time, and in that regard it beats the majority of places in the city.

Located perfectly in the center of Tel Aviv at a beautiful 1920 building.
The place has a unique style and many of Tel Aviv’s famous people like to hang out there.
The food style is somewhere between France and Japan but in a very light way.
The prices are fair and not expensive.
Cocktails are great and also the wine collection.
The place owner as far as I know is Ruti Bruno and everything she does she makes it at his very best. She’s like the God of culinary in Israel.
Just go there!!!
We came for a Friday morning breakfast, and it was the first day of a new menu so it was not as we saw on the website. The food was really good! Just not what we expected for breakfast. It felt more like lunch to us..
First time lunching in Herzl, I usually sit there at evening for a drink.
I love the atmosphere in this place, as long as I’m sitting in the front area- the terrace. The indoors and middle sitting are not fun at all for eating.
The food was great, service was good as long with the kind staff.
I have to say, as much as i heard and got recommended from the staff about the bread pudding- it’s by far not good as a bread pudding should be made.
Had a birthday lunch here. There is a nice vibe and friendly staff. We ordered and were given a complimentary free starter which was nice. Alcohol is discounted until the evening by 25% which is good but on other hand draft beers only come in 330cc size which is a very annoying limitation some places do to make more money. My Fish Cutlets were presented in a spicy sauce which was creamy and slightly sour (I think it was dried persian lemons that did this) and presented with crispy greens and sticky rice, it was a nice concept but didn't work 100% because it was a little too sour. My companions variation on the local Schwarma was really good she told me. Music (house) a bit on the loud side but we could still carry out a conversation. Prices are for centre of Tel Aviv not too bad especially as we took some of the most expensive dishes on the menu.
