Jaffa Hotel Tel Aviv

I usually don’t write reviews, but after the experience we had this weekend, I felt I had to share it honestly. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing and nowhere near worth the price we paid. First of all, there is no parking at the hotel and no assistance with luggage. Since the hotel is located on a steep downhill street, if you continue further to find parking, you then have to drag all your bags back uphill. For couples with a lot of luggage, families, or anyone arriving with children, this is extremely inconvenient and exhausting. The reception staff were unfriendly to the point of seeming annoyed by the guests. It really felt like they had no patience or energy for customer service, which immediately creates a bad atmosphere when arriving for a vacation. Our first room was unacceptable. The mattress was completely worn out and you could strongly feel the springs. The shower also clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly because there were opened and used shampoos and soaps left behind when we arrived. We came for a romantic couples vacation and were given a connecting room next to a family with children and a crying baby. The screaming felt like it was happening inside our own room. To the hotel’s credit, when we complained they immediately changed our room. The new room was clean, the mattress was much better, and they also sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne. The coffee machine and capsules in the room were a nice touch as well. The pool atmosphere was extremely crowded and noisy. This is not an adults-only hotel, so there is very little peace, privacy, or relaxation around the pool area. The staff member who was supposed to welcome us at the pool was busy texting on his phone when we arrived and didn’t even bother to look up at us. We spent around 15 minutes searching for somewhere to sit because nobody clears or organizes the chairs, and there was barely any service unless you are considered “VIP.” Another frustrating thing: if you are seated in the second row of pool chairs, the first row completely blocks access to the water, so getting into the pool becomes awkward and uncomfortable. Breakfast was actually very good and generous, but again the service was weak. We received several things incorrectly, and we overheard other guests complaining about the service as well. Overall, the hotel is stunning visually, but the value for money is simply not there. For these prices, there are many other places where you can have a completely different level of experience and service. We were so disappointed that we actually left one night earlier than planned because we just weren’t enjoying ourselves anymore.

Beautiful rooms. Service is amazing and the breakfast was fantastic! The gym was at a high level. There is a charm of old and new coming together. We had a tour explaining the history of the place. It all was an incredible experience.

Very disappointing experience. The room was small and not clean, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The service was extremely poor. I had to wait over 40 minutes to receive a toothbrush and a blanket, even after following up. For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

seriously never feel the need to complain but this hotel left me no choice. The Jaffa is extremely understaffed, horribly organized, and the employees clearly have not received any five star training. They barely even smile. For our wedding weekend, the hotel convinced us to cancel our 870 dollar booking and rebook at more than four times the price with promises of a Bridal Suite upgrade and special services. None of those promises were delivered. As for the bridal package, the most important part is being able to take pictures. Just so you know, everyone else is taking pictures and nothing is closed off for you. Anyone can walk right through your shoot. They take advantage of you simply because you are the bride. If you were not in a bridal dress, you would not need to pay anything for the same access. The staff was shockingly unhelpful. After our wedding, we arrived late at night exhausted and were told there was no bellboy, so we carried everything ourselves. We asked for an iron at 8 AM on the morning of our wedding and did not receive it until 4 PM as we were checking out. Towels took hours as well. VIP parking was broken, my car got stuck, and they asked for cash with no receipt. Several employees even admitted we were misled. For a hotel claiming to be luxury, this was embarrassing and unacceptable. Not recommended at all. There is so much more to say, this is only a portion of how bad the experience really was. It is a shame because the hotel is so beautiful, but whoever is managing it is ruining it completely. I emailed the hotel. They called me and promised they would see what can be done about this situation in terms of compensation and never got back to me
