Jango

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Tel Aviv and I wish I didn’t have to write this and hopefully the restaurant takes this as constructive feedback. We came on New Year’s Eve and were seated at the bar, which was perfectly fine, everything was decorated beautifully. The waiter who greeted us was friendly at first and we ordered drinks to start. However, our drinks were forgotten and we had to remind them before they finally arrived. At the beginning we ordered a Caesar salad and their wings. The Caesar salad arrived and was fine. The wings, however, came out cold and felt like they had been sitting on standby rather than being prepared fresh to order. From the start we also wanted to order their famous hamburger, but the staff kept pushing a New Year’s “special” on us — an overpriced ground chicken dish. When we said we wanted the hamburger, the waiter encouraged us to try the special first and told us that if we still didn’t want it, they would bring the hamburger afterward. We agreed to try it, but it wasn’t for us. When the waiter returned, we clearly told him we wanted the hamburger. He said he would bring it out. After waiting quite a while, it became clear the hamburger hadn’t been ordered. When we reminded him, he admitted it was his mistake and said he would go place the order. Shortly after, the manager came over and claimed that we had never actually ordered the hamburger and that they weren’t sure if we wanted it and there was no time to order it because by that point our two-hour reservation window was almost up and that there were people waiting to be seated. Sitting at the bar, we could hear the waiter apologizing to multiple other couples around us for similar mistakes throughout the night, so it seemed like he was very distracted (taking pictures and taking shots with staff) and several orders were being missed that night. I’ve never had a dinning experience where I was not believed about a dish I ordered and made out to be a liar or difficult. Eventually they did bring the hamburger, and we ate it, but the experience had already been soured. For the first time in my life, we chose not to leave a tip. Being forgotten, delayed, and then essentially told we hadn’t ordered something and told to leave before eating was incredibly disappointing. A really frustrating way to spend New Year’s Eve. Jango is definitely the Triger’s and the Wine Shop’s less successful sister.

We went during war time, on a very rainy day. We were asked to leave our table after less than 1 hour and a half so they can accept other customers. What a shitty service. Burger was good, though a bit small. Good meat quality.

Such a cool place, was a recommendation from a friend to visit whilst on Tel Aviv....I had a late lunch here, I can imagine the evenings are electric with atmosphere

The best place for a hamburger! Cool environment. Love it!!! We had the spicy burger and the veggie one. Both were great.
