Family Dinner with reservations. Good food. Wasn't very busy. Only complaint is my nephews love the smoothies and they had NO working blender (not even in bar area) on a Holiday weekend? It seems they could've gone across the street to the mall and just bought one for $50? Other thing is it was quite a long time from ordering and getting our appetizer, bread and salads.... to the time most of our entrees arrived close to 9:30pm. Reservation was 8pm. My Stuffed Redfish with Crescent topping (shrimp, crawfish and crab) was good, with sauteed spinach that was not seasoned (a pich of salt goes a long way), the rice pilaf was cooked nice and moist. We were enjoying catching up with family in conversation so the time between appetizer and entree was not too bothersome. Special of the month was 1 free dessert and we ordered a total of 3. The cinnamon bread pudding was moist and delicious and NO raisins! Creme brulee was okay (very thin, definitely not 1 inch thickness, maybe not even 1/2 inch thickness) and the cheesecake was good but a small slice with not even a good amount of puree but good amount of whip cream on side (I compare my cheesecake slices to Carrabbas big thick New York style delicious creamy Cheesecake).
Wanted to give a shout out to the manager, Daylene Sherman, and the chef at Landrys in Woodlands. Daylene overheard me at lunch saying how much I missed coconut shrimp because I have to eat gluten free now. She went out of her way to talk to the chef and see if he could make this dish GF for me! He did and it was amazing. Not very often that people go above and beyond. This is not my first time at this restaurant, and always the staff is warm and accommodating. I can always find something I need for my restricted diet, and they are knowledgeable about allergies. Stop by and ask for Daylene! She will take care of you.
Sat out on the veranda. Great breeze and super service. Very attentive to our every need. Oysters were superb and beer was cold. The mahi was just right and the blackened red fish we ordered to go for later was super also.
What surprises me about this place is that it has been at this great waterway location for 25 plus years. Every time I’ve been here over those years it has consistently been an exceptional experience. Be it lunch or dinner, bar or dinning room, it has sustained a unique pleasant ambiance, good service and great food. This time was no different. We came to celebrate a dear friend’s 80th birthday. It was the perfect place.
So many restaurants now have the tables crammed to close together and the noise level is a bit too loud to enjoy casual conversation without raising your voices. Not here! Tables are nicely spaced and the noise level is easily tolerable.
Great appetizers, drinks, and entree’s and a pleasant birthday dessert for the special person there.
I highly recommend this place even if it isn’t a special occasion.
Bar tender was kinda rude, but other than that, it was lovely. My steak was cooked to perfection, the au gratin potatoes were excellent, and my drink was delicious. Love the location, and can't wait to go back.
Our waitress was awesome as well.
