Dinner at Severo is definitely one of the highlights of my holiday in Paris. Before my appointment day, I received a gentle reminder that my deposit will be forfeited after a certain date and time. This is understandable since an empty table at the last minute means a loss of profits. A menu in French assures me of authentic French cuisine away from the mass tourism. It did not take long before the experienced eyes of the owner saw me poring over the menu and came to my aid. The “Terrine de Porc” as starter was full of flavour. The main meal“Pavé de rumsteak sauce au poivre, haricots verts” was juicy and the Pepper sauce and French beans delicious. The “Mousse au Chocolat” simply yummy. In short, an excellent meal worth every penny. I am glad that I paid heed to the good reviews. I will be back! Oh, and the staff? I understand that they are not related but have known each other for years so that Severo feels like a family business. To me it says a lot about them in a very positive sense.
I'm shocked by the low ratings. Severo is a jewel! It's a small place that is very attractive and the overall decor is very comforting. The server who appeared to be an owner was very welcoming and delightful. The appetizer was a special white asparagus dish served simply with a delicious hollandaise sauce--perfectly done. For the main course, I chose the steak au poivre with frites and it was among the best I've had. Additionally, the wine list is amazing with a wide selection of great bottles. I don't know what these other people are thinking w the poor reviews but I hope they stay home so I can get another reservation!!

Steak was tops. Fries were astounding. One thing I didn't see in other reviews is that there's really no lighter or vegetarian options. Good to know depending on the make up of your party. Service was great, in a bit of a gruff way.

Very high quality of meat if you’re looking for a good steak in Paris. The meat is really tender (looks like they aged it for at least several weeks). Fresh home made fries. The wine suggestion was average.
Nice decoration and ambiance. Small, warm and cozy restaurant in a quiet corner.

such a rich and unique experience to dine here! it wasn't like any other restaurant or steak place! don't bother going here if you like your steak well-done, or even medium-well. I don't think I can have steak tartare anywhere wise now that I've tried William's. and the fried potatoes... don't make me start about it!
the genuine hospitality that I received was so beyond anything similar!
