Customer Perception
Customers consistently praise Chef Javad for its excellent food quality, freshness, and authentic Iranian flavors, with generous portion sizes. The staff is frequently highlighted for being professional, polite, kind, patient, attentive, and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's dog-friendly policy and ability to accommodate special events are also appreciated. Minor criticisms include occasional issues with food arriving cold and a dark interior design that some find a bit gloomy.
Additional Details
Chef Javad is considered by some patrons to be one of the best Iranian restaurants in the UK, offering a truly authentic dining experience.
The restaurant is popular and can be very busy, suggesting that making a reservation might be advisable, especially during peak dining hours. The staff is noted for managing busy periods efficiently.
We had lunch at this restaurant today without a reservation. The lady at the front was incredibly helpful and quickly found us a table. Our waitress was also excellent, kind, attentive, and very professional.
The food itself was fresh with generous portions, and the flavours were good. Unfortunately, all our meals arrived cold, which was disappointing. We could also hear some male members of staff talking very loudly and using inappropriate language with each other. While they may have been joking, it felt unprofessional in the dining area.
The restaurant has a nice design overall, but the dark colour scheme makes the space feel quite small and a bit gloomy.
We would happily return for the food quality and generous portions, but we’d definitely request that the dishes are served hot next time.
We recently hosted a surprise baby shower for my sister at Chef Javad, and I honestly could not have asked for a better experience.
The staff were absolutely wonderful from start to finish - polite, kind, patient, smiling, and incredibly helpful. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable, and at no point did they make us feel like anything was too much trouble. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy and people were queuing, the team still managed everything so beautifully and with such care.
They gave us the perfect setting for a group of 10, with a lovely sense of privacy, and allowed us to bring our own cake, cupcakes, balloons, and decorations. They were so accommodating and thoughtful, which made such a big difference to the day.
I have been coming to Chef Javad since they first opened, and I have brought many friends and family here over the years. I have always recommended it, and they have genuinely never disappointed me. The food has always been excellent, and this time was no exception - everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and of great quality. I’m so happy to see that their standards have remained so high.
Thank you to the whole team for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable baby shower for my sister. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m truly grateful. I will always come back and continue recommending this place to others.

Chef Javad is easily one of the best Persian restaurants I’ve been to in London. Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh and high quality from start to finish. We had the lamb chops, Kebab Soltani, and Olivieh, and every dish was excellent.
The standout for me was the Barg kebab on the Soltani — genuinely the best I’ve had in London. It was extremely juicy, tender, and properly seasoned, unlike many other places where it can end up dry or chewy. The lamb chops were also cooked perfectly, with great flavour and quality meat. Portion sizes were generous and left us fully satisfied.
One thing that really stood out was the pineapple juice. You could immediately tell it was freshly pressed in the restaurant and not made from concentrate or purée. That level of freshness carried through the entire meal.
Prices are probably around 10–15% higher than many other Persian restaurants, but honestly it is absolutely worth it for the quality of the food, freshness, and overall experience. For 2 adults and a toddler the bill came to around £91.
The staff were polite, attentive, and welcoming throughout. Also worth noting there is no service charge added, so please make sure you tip the staff because the service deserves it.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to meet Chef Javad himself, but hopefully next time!

We had another wonderful experience at Chef Javad in High Street Kensington. The food, as always, was delicious, authentic, and consistently excellent.
What really stood out this time was the service, which has improved significantly. The team was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit.
A special thank you to Elnaz for her outstanding hospitality, as well as the rest of the team for doing such a fantastic job and making us feel so well looked after.
Congratulations on expanding the restaurant! It looks great, and I sincerely hope you continue to maintain the same high standards of food and service that have made Chef Javad one of our favourite Persian restaurants in London.
Wishing the whole team continued success—we’ll definitely be back!

I had a fantastic experience at Chef Javad, one of the best Persian restaurants I've visited in London. The restaurant is easy to reach, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. The menu offers a great variety of authentic Persian dishes, including delicious starters, traditional drinks, a wide selection of kebabs, stews, and tasty side dishes.
The kebabs were perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and served in very generous portions. One portion is easily enough for one to two people, especially if you also order a starter or dessert. We also tried the Baghali Polo, which was delicious and well cooked, although I would have preferred a little more broad beans. The traditional yoghurt drink was fresh and complemented the meal perfectly.
They even offer a one-metre kebab, which is a great option for groups or families. The prices are slightly higher than average, and a service charge is added, but the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the excellent service make it absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend Chef Javad to anyone looking for authentic Persian food in London.
