Awesome place and very unique place, especially if you like cheese.
Once you walk in, you know feel like you just stepped into a bar or restaurant in Switzerland or something. The decorations and the structure of the restaurant is top notch.
The service is great and was greeted but the hostess at the front. Was sat at our table and our waiter was attentive and gave us enough information about our food and etc.
So much cheese. I’m not a huge fan of cheese but everything there was pretty good. We ordered 4 different flavors of cheese. I don’t remember the flavors but they were all really good, especially the vampire hunter.
All and all, would definitely come back again.
It's my second time there, in this very atmospheric place. I have never tried fondue before and am glad this place brought that experience for me, both the taste and the process. The staff is very friendly and helpful to guide your through the Alpian adventure. A compliment in the form of truffles was an unexpectedly delightful.
This review is long overdue! My partner have been coming to Matterhorn for the past few years for special occasions and date nights. We absolutely love coming here. For our most recent visit this weekend, we brought a group of 10 people for one of our birthdays. Our server Thomas was wonderful; we definitely needed help figuring out how to make this kind of dining experience work for a large group and his suggestions (quantities) were PERFECT. Not too much, not too little, just right/perfect amounts for our group... He was attentive and helpful, all while the restaurant was very busy overall. All of our friends loved their experience so we're extremely grateful to Thomas, manager Sheila, and all other team members who made our birthday experience special! And, thank you for seating us next to the train display (we love the cute model train setup towards the back wall) :)
This place made dinner SO special. Every corner of the restaurant has some cute and Swiss-centric design touch, down to the diorama mountains in the back windows. Welcome/dessert tasters made this feel like a five star experience, along with so much else. Definitely recommend the raclette dinner, which I’ve never seen served personal fondue cooking style before!
The smell in the place is very potent, and the vibe is nice, very "wood cabin on the hills". That said, the service was lacking (the appetizer looked very unappealing and was placed before us with zero explanations on how to eat it). The food itself is just ok, the pork schnitzel was good, but the rosti felt blend, and the moitie moitie fondue was extremely heavy and tasted almost alcoholic, the items that came with it were also uninspired (simple boiled potatoes, simple bread) Thank god for the pickles.
