The food was exquisite and the ambiance is nothing short of magical. Under the new ownership of Chef Brendan Kawakami, February of 2026 -- the menu is designed to be conscientious about food: sourcing high quality ingredients focusing on local Utah farms and purveyors - but also opening up to other food purveyors that are practicing a "let's do better" attitude with their farming practices.
Everything we tried was unique, thoughtful, delicious. The menu is not pretentious- it's just plain tasty. We has the mushroom ceviche (you're doing it wrong if you don't order this dish), chili wontons (exactly what you want only better), wood-fired flatbread (uhh the pea hummus on this dish was noteworthy), roasted cabbage (just order it), pork lettuce wraps (who doesn't want a good lettuce wrap?), onion bhaji (imagine the best fried onion of your life), roasted banana squash (the pistachio and black sesame crumble=yes please), Bone-in pork chop (This is an example of a purveyor that cares about their meat products: Olympia Provisions Farmer's Network doesn't ordinarily export out of Oregon, but Chef Brendan serves their pork at North Creek Grill- and WOW can you taste the difference. The pork is excellent!!!) -- then dessert was the cake that his mom made for him for his birthday every year as a kid!? It's so tasty! Our servers were knowledgeable, passionate, and hilarious! They cared about food and about our experience. Not to mention the Chef's wife Sam coming over to dive into all the details involved in both the restaurant, their life-long passion for the desert, and the beautiful community they are proud to be a part of!
Basically, this restaurant is a must. The patio is staged next to red rock walls and you cross a desert oasis to sit overlooking beautiful Escalante!? It's gorgeous! North Creek Grill is quaint, honest, delicious, and did I also mention the whole interior is an art exhibit for local artists? It's just a 10 out of 10 special place.
