A Popular Country Restaurant Near Sibiu
While driving to Sibiu, we were drawn to this countryside gem thanks to its stellar Google Maps reviews—and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The food was delicious, with generous portions that impressed us.
What We Ordered:
- Pork & Chicken Schnitzels:The pork schnitzel stood out—instead of the usual bread-crumb coating, it was lightly dipped in egg wash. A unique twist, yet incredibly tasty!
- Pork Knuckle with Beans: This dish was enormous—easily shareable among three people—and packed with flavor.
- Papanasi: Our first time trying this traditional dessert, and it was delightful!
The Vibe:
We dined outside under an umbrella, enjoying the fresh air away from indoor smokers. The charming atmosphere was enhanced by a friendly cat and dog ambling about, happily accepting pets from guests.
Service Note:
Initially, it was tricky to get the waitstaff’s attention (we ended up walking over to request menus). But once we ordered, service was smooth and efficient.
Final Thoughts:
A memorable stop with hearty, authentic food and a rustic countryside charm. Despite the slow start, we’d gladly return!

Service very friendly, tried their best to accommodate in English and made honest recommendations. They offer traditional Romanian food, but also snacks like pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches. Try their socota drink. It's home made natural "lemonade", very Romanian and tasty. Clean and comfortable facilities.
Food comes relatively fast, but slow enough to know they took care of your dish.
The food itself was excellent. Having visited half a dozen restaurants across Romania, we agreed this one was the best on all levels. We had ribs, very fresh and well done, fried pork a classic and vegetable-meatball and beans soup. Papanasi for dessert. All of the dishes became or favorite of this trip!
Very reasonable prices, rather not expensive. And that doesn't impact the food nor service in any way!
Nice restaurant! Been coming here for years and it is always great. Fast service, delicious Romanian food, lots of outdoor and indoor seating... Overall amazing!!
