A nice frenchy restaurant in a very good area. Food wise : it is good, but I might have expected a bit more considering the price of it all. It was still good. I got the lamb steak, tasty, but got not the best cut with lots of nerves. Atmosphere : it sounds like a brasserie. We sat outside because the inside was very much too loud. Which explains the 4 stars. Service wise : they were super amazing and here to make sure we have a great time.

We met up some childhood friends in this bustling restaurant last a Sunday. At first I was overwhelmed with the noise, but we were seated at the end of the front dining room where I felt more relaxed. Please note that they do have outside seating (but it was super hot that day). Our server was very sweet, patient and efficient. The drink orders came quickly. We ordered a nice bottle of Domaine Vallot Côtes du Rhône 2021. A bit pricey, but worth every single drop. We indulged ourselves with the following appetizers: very fresh Oysters (I thought they were Wellfleet) and Pâté de Campagne. We enjoyed every morsel of our appetizers. I especially have to say that the butter was better than the ones I tasted in Paris last March!!! For our entrees, our friend Miya ordered the Lobster Frites, I ordered Trout Amandine and the men at the table both ordered the Hangar Steaks. The food was served in perfect timing like a rehearsed symphony. However, they gave the medium rare steak order to the wrong person, which we happily adjusted amongst our selves. For dessert I recommend the Passionfruit Tart. It was well balanced in sweetness and the intensity of the fruit flavor. I was a bit disappointed with the Sticky Date Pudding. It was too aromatic and sweet for me. Miya ordered the Paris Brest Cake which had a heavenly hazel nut buttercream and a melt in your mouth choux. We had such a great dining experience, that I would definitely and happily dine in this restaurant again whenever I am in New York City.♥️

It was a good experience. The servers were great and very attentive. Expect a wait during busy times even with a reservation. The food was nice and was served quickly. The toilets had some fun decorations in them. The booths made the restaurant seem quite private even when the whole restaurant was full. There was no difficulty hearing conversations.

Even during a snowstorm Pastis was packed and lively. I have been meaning to get brunch here ever since I watched the scene in SITC where Carrie and Petrovsky iconically enjoy a glass of champagne and oysters here. So now that I’ve finally visited, I can affirm the food is delicious. We started with a mimosa and then split the Trout Amandine, Buttermilk Pancakes, Gruyère Omelette, and Pommes Frites. Our waiter was funny and did give us a look for the combination of entrées but we had no regrets at all. The buttery lemon sauce in the trout was mouth watering and the pancakes were a treat - mildly sweet and fluffy. All is to say I’ll definitely be back I get it now.
