Pizzeria Mozza is a highly acclaimed Los Angeles restaurant from James Beard Award-Winning Chef Nancy Silverton. It's celebrated for its artisan pizzas, which feature a distinctive crispy yet chewy crust, and a menu that highlights California seasonality alongside classic Italian offerings. The restaurant offers both dine-in and Mozza2Go for pick-up or local delivery.
Customer Perception
Customers generally praise Pizzeria Mozza for its outstanding food, particularly the pizzas, meatballs, and unique dishes like Japanese sweet potatoes. The dough and crust are frequently highlighted as perfect. While many commend the overall dining experience and staff, some recent reviews note a perceived decline in food quality, menu flexibility, and service consistency compared to its past reputation. The lasagna receives mixed reviews, but pizzas remain a consistent hit.
Additional Details
The restaurant offers a convenient 'Mozza2Go' service for customers who prefer pick-up or local delivery. It's known for its vibrant atmosphere and is a popular spot in Los Angeles.
Pizzeria Mozza is open for dinner on weekdays (Mon-Thu 5-9pm, Fri 5-10pm) and for both lunch/brunch and dinner on weekends (Sat 12-10pm, Sun 12-9pm). Weekends and Friday evenings are likely peak times, so reservations are recommended.
If you’re looking for truly delicious pizza, this is the place to go. Their seasonal dishes featuring fresh, in-season ingredients are also excellent. They offer an impressive selection of Italian wines to pair with your meal, and the service is professional and attentive. The only downside is that the tables are quite close together, so it can feel a bit crowded at times.
Pizzeria Mozza delivers far more than a great meal, it delivers an experience. From the burrata and handmade pastas to the Branzino, Duck Confit, Ribeye, and Rack of Lamb, every course was outstanding. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in Los Angeles and absolutely deserving of its acclaim. Highly recommended.

Came here the other night for a dinner. The Bartender was amazing and he was very kind while I waited on my reservation. Once seated outside, our server Juan was very kind and knew a lot about the menu to let us know what would best suit our needs. I ordered the Meatballs Al Forno for the appetizers which were great and the bread that came with it delicious. For entrees we order the lasagna, prosciutto, and meat lovers pizzas. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their pizzas. The lasagna in my opinion was just ok. It was good, but not the best that I’ve had and I would’ve expected a bit better for an Italian restaurant. But not all lasagnas are made the same. And they are more known for their pizzas than their lasagna. Overall, we had a great dining experience and this is truly a beautiful restaurant with incredible staff. I will certainly try it again and get the pizza next time which was a colossal hit with my party.

The food was breathtaking, by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. I ordered the Margherita pizza which was perfect! Their dough is the best, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside. Definitely order the Japanese sweet potatoes to start… full of so much flavor. For a Michelin restaurant could’ve had better, attentive service but it’s okay the food made up for it lol

THE QUINTESSENTIAL LA EATERY SUFFERS BADLY WITH TIME
Went last night and I have to say, after coming here for years and taking every visitor to LA here, the quality of food and service has declined to the point that I felt the need to write this updated review.
Pizzeria Mozza is iconic. Created with love, it really showed what good minds, ingredients, and service could deliver. It radiated California. Whether you sat at a table, at the bar, or in the back, it was always great.
Last night, I found that the menu has declined. They have taken off items that were staples. Prosciutto and fruit—a classic—and the Margherita pizza with prosciutto are gone. Even asking for simple modifications, we were met with, "Sorry—can't do that." The vodka pasta has gone stale. The wedge salad was literally inedible; it was so much of the lettuce core and so bitter. I should have just sent it back ASAP.
The food gems: the Japanese potato is a new treat. I have to say, it was a meal highlight. The Tin Roof Sundae was also a standout. Pizzas are still the best part of this menu; the fennel pizza was a good one.
Service—well, there is sometimes no rhyme or reason to it. You might see your server at your table, then working the bar, then they disappear. You are left stranded asking the busboys to take orders or other waiters to pack up your extras. There is no consistency. The host staff was nice, though. We celebrated a birthday and they did get that right.
As someone who wants every restaurant to win big, someone needs a gut check here. NANCY PLEASE!
