We visited last night without a reservation and ended up waiting about an hour for a table. The restaurant itself is really good—the food is authentic, the service was great, and our server, **Mathias**, was fantastic and took excellent care of us.
For our meal, we started with the prosciutto plate, followed by the **cacio e pepe** and the **gnocchi** for our mains. Both pasta dishes were really good!
Overall, it's a solid experience and I would definitely recommend it. That being said, there are plenty of other spots in town offering a similar level of quality. I would not wait again an hour to it here.
Roscioli absolutely lived up to the hype and was one of the standout meals of our trip to Rome. Every dish was exceptional, but the gricia and the amatriciana were especially memorable—simple, authentic, and perfectly executed. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients.
The atmosphere is lively yet charming, and the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. If you’re looking for a true Roman dining experience, this is a place you simply can’t miss. Going back in 2 months!

I wanted to try something different in Rome beyond the usual pasta and pizza, which is why I chose Roscioli.
I ordered the beef tartare served on a marrow bone, something I had been craving for a while. Although the portion was smaller than I expected and I would have appreciated a little extra on the side, the dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The wine was also excellent.
The woman working at the bar was especially kind and welcoming. While the rest of the staff seemed a bit less warm, I was seated at the bar and had a lovely experience chatting with her throughout the evening.
I also appreciated the complimentary chocolate and biscotti served with my limoncello at the end of the meal, a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I had a good time and would definitely recommend Roscioli to anyone looking to try something different and explore flavors beyond the classic Roman dishes.

The food was excellent, especially the Carbonara! It was exploding with flavor. One suggestion would be to try and get a table not in the actual deli area. While it’s cool to be able to see the meat being shaved and cheese plates being prepared, it was really hot in that area and felt chaotic and crowded with people coming in the door waiting to be seated.

This is a reservation only restaurant in the wine cellar of a phenomenally stocked deli near Plaza Navona. The dining area is cozy but comfortable and offers many of the cured meats that one walks by on the wat to the restaurant. We started out with a bread bowl which had a delicious selection of breads and was accompanied by fine salami, soft cheese and pesto. We then has the tasty fried oxtail stew stuffed flowers and pastas (Greek, similar to Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana). The meal was rounded out with delectable desserts - tiramisu and luxardo cherry ice cream with herbal tea and espresso. Would definitely eat there again!
