Karaván definitely lives up to the hype. The variety of food and drinks is amazing, and there’s something for everyone no matter what you’re in the mood for. It was also where I had the best lāngos of my entire trip!
Even though it was pretty busy, I was surprised by how much seating and standing room there was. It never felt too crowded, and it was easy to find a spot to enjoy my food.
Was it worth a detour?
100% a must if you’re in Budapest. Perfect spot to grab something quick, fun, and really satisfying.
What about the food?
You have to try the lángos burger you won’t be disappointed. Messy, indulgent, and exactly what you want from a place like this.
How was the service?
Fast and efficient across the stalls. Lots of movement, so things keep flowing.

I didn’t get a chance to try the food, so I can’t comment on the taste or quality. However, Street Food Karaván has a lively atmosphere with plenty of food stalls offering a wide variety of cuisines. It’s a convenient spot if you’re visiting the nearby ruin bars and looking for different dining options. I’d be happy to come back next time to sample the food.
It is a great place, tho it seemed way too crowded on other days we passed by. It is a place with multiple food truck style restaurants. We had:
1) Langos Burger
Great concept and a very impressive-looking dish. The lángos “bun” itself was amazing, but the meat and sauce were only average — similar to a mid-level burger place. Considering the price, it might be skippable, though it’s definitely a niche dish you don’t see everywhere.
2) Crunchy Chicken
Good chicken fingers with a nice blue cheese sauce. Solid quality, but nothing particularly memorable.
Karavan Street Food Court was a great stop during our visit to Budapest. There is a wide variety of food options in one place, making it easy for everyone in the family to find something they enjoy. The atmosphere is lively, relaxed, and perfect for a casual meal.
We especially liked the outdoor setting and the chance to try different local and international foods without having to commit to a single restaurant. The seating area was comfortable.
