Weekends, particularly for brunch, tend to be very busy with long lines. For a potentially quicker seating experience, consider visiting closer to closing hours or during weekdays.
Luckily no line on an earl Sunday. Match melons drink was unique but not a fan of overly sweetness, famous galbi bfast sandwich was a miss too. Needed strong pickled veg/kim chee n burger was just plain, bread was ok. The noodle salad was a hit, nice spice. Cookie was made perfectly. Light gochujang but texture on point. Service good, atmosphere nice with lots of 2nd fl seating
I was taking my time to check this place out as I’ve heard about long wait for several weeks after opening. It was easy to get a table at ~9:30am on Friday. Just couple of people were there. But at 10:30 the second floor was fully packed.
I liked the menu which was not too large and went with the breakfast sandwich and hot hojicha latte. Be careful with ordering drinks — seems like they serve sweetened version by default so when you order pick less sweet or unsweetened if you don’t want a sweet drink (my friend made this mistake and was a bit disappointed). I liked the sandwich — the texture combo was amazing: tender egg, crunchy bacon and flaky sesame croissant. The sweetness from onion jam was a bit too much for me but I still enjoyed it. Horjicha latte was rich in flavor too.
The space is beautiful— two stories loft with lovely modern art along the walls, the corner with books about Korean food and design and workshop schedule. Amazing place to come with friends, on a date or to work.
SOHN is a Korean breakfast and brunch cafe in the Dogpatch neighborhood. I have to give them a compliment on their design, this is probably one of the most aesthetic cafe in the Bay Area. The cafe is very spacious with both downstairs and upstairs seating, free wifi, plenty of power outlets, making it a great working space for remote workers (like me) or students.
Their menu has a wide variety of food and drink options, and I really enjoyed everything I ordered. I had hojicha latte and Galbi Patty Melt (their breakfast sandwich).
Hojicha latte was not too sweet so you can focus on the nutty flavor of the drink. And what I like most is that the "hot hojicha" was served at a perfect temperature, warm enough to be comforting but not too hot to burn my mouth.
Their Galbi Patty Melt featured Korean BBQ beef, cheddar cheese, and kimchi slaw on a sesame croissant bun. The croissant was incredibly buttery, which makes me want to come back and try more of their croissants next time.
Overall, I had a great experience. This will definitely be my go-to cafe for working from now on.
Parking was a challenge...given you're in San Francisco.
We went close to closing and we were seated pretty fast. We were a party of 4. If it was busy. You'd have to wait in line to be seated.
The inside is so cute & very open! I love how they decorated the place. Very light and cozy. Definitely a great place to work or just have coffee or food w/ friends.
All the workers were very nice and friendly. You order your beverage and food through the QR code they have at your table. WiFi is also available!
I ordered the Banana Oat Milk Latte w/ Hojicha (10/10) and Eric Kim's Gochujang Caramel Cookie (8/10).
My friend who doesn't like hojicha, actually really liked my drink. The hojicha with the banana was such a great combo and balanced each other very well. I want to try the matcha next time.
The cookie was good, but a bit too sweet for me & it was bigger than I expected. I'm glad we shared it. I recommend trying it though!
My friends ordered the Banana Oat Milk Latte w/ Espresso and they thought the espresso was too strong for them, but I enjoyed it! It really depends on how much you like coffee. But another recommended drink.
Studying or working here would be perfect if you don't mind the noise. It's not overwhelmingly loud, but it's definitely not quiet. I just love the vibes. I can't wait to come back to try more of their menu, especially the food since we didn't get to try it.
Definitely recommend to come here!
We stopped by at this café for some coffee to-go around 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. It's great that there are a couple of circular bike rack on the sidewalk to park our bikes. There was already a line of people waiting to dine-in, and another line started to form on the other side of the doorway for take out. While waiting for my turn to order at the kiosk, I asked one of the staff about a signature drink. He was friendly. I, then, ordered a Banana Oat Milk Latte, for my friend, who said it was good with banana flavor. I had a Cappuccino with almond milk and extra shot of espresso, which had a higher level of acidity that gave the "bright" or "citrusy" flavor to the coffee. While I waited for my order, I took a look at this two-level café, and saw people (some with laptops) sitting at the coffee bar and tables on the ground level, and people sitting at tables on the atrium level. I like the contemporary feel with simple decor and beige-color interior that's easy on the eyes. I like seeing this Korean-American inspired café located at the Dogpatch. I will come back to try their food and dine-in experience next time.
