We loved restaurant Sol, the fixed price menu is stunning, deserves to be recognised for the very high standard.
Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. If you are in Stavanger and want to try local and high end food and wine ( their wines are outstanding) this is a must.
Would highly recommend
A personal favourite of mine in Stavanger. Seasonal menu never fails to impress, bold and refreshing flavours. The staff is always exceptionally accommodating with an attentive and timely service. Modifications can easily be made for any dietary restrictions.
Excellent food and drinks for excellent prices, especially in Stavanger.
Two weeks into our 4-week trip through Norway we happily stumbled upon Sol in Stavanger—and what a find!
They offer a 6-course menu for only 789 NOK, which is exceptional considering how many meals in Norway can feel overpriced and mediocre.
Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Standouts for me included the warm house bread, Holte Farm chicken with cauliflower and kale shoots, perfectly cooked fish, and a memorable dessert of pumpkin ice cream with cake.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere cosy yet modern. Sol delivers both quality and value, making it one of the best dining experiences of our trip
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Stavanger.
We found and picked this place based on the available pictures. And, we have not been disappointed and our expectations have been fully met. All dishes of the set menu tasted great. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and had a good timing. We even liked the wine pairing (which we normally avoid). Only point of criticism, the blunt knife during the meat dish was hard to use.
I had high hopes for this place. Great atmosphere, and everything about the place was clean and organised.
Great service from staff. It was an intimate atmosphere and the restaurant it self was well layed out.
The food and it's wine pairing was a very mixed experience.
Big sourdough bread with butter for sharing. Overcooked bread, ok taste.
Soup-thing with cheese and tomatoes, it did not taste much. Not interesting.
Then came the fish. Great taste, many great flavours. Good wine pairing.
The meat dish was very well tasting. Goid meat, and good mix of vegetables and complimented by good sauce. Wine pairing not to my liking, but that is personal preferences the others liked it.
Desert could have gone well, but it was way to much going on, and it was way to sweat. Paired with a very sweat dessert wine wanted me to get some salt and acidic to balance out the sweetness. Good presentation and consistency though.
I might come back, but not for a while. Paying attention to your progress.
