World class meal !
We made reservations at Spoon and Stable for an earlier brunch over the weekend. Quite frankly, we were trying to get reservations for dinner but it was completely sold out for several days in advance. We were still happy to get a brunch reservation.
Upon arrival were greeted and even though we were 15 minutes early the hostess was able to get us seated immediately.
The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is very open, with plenty of tables and booths. The kitchen is open concept, so you can see the chefs preparing the food. I highly recommend getting reservations, as it was a very full restaurant.
Our waiter was very fun, friendly, and explained the menu perfectly. The menu also clearly marks what is gluten free, vegetarian and several dairy free which was great to see.
The biggest score was the gluten free chicken & waffles, made with sorghum and served with spiced honey butter & chicken. It is not very often you find a gluten free version of chicken & waffles.
The French dip with roast beef, horseradish cream, Gruyere, and caramelized onion was also very good, served with a side of French fries.
However, what really won us over were the pastries. They were on display, and once we were looking at them, we could not help ourselves and took some to go.
The banana bread, which is both gluten free and dairy free, was extraordinarily good. Moist and delicious. The cinnamon cardamom roll was heavenly, fluffy, and had just the right amount of cardamom.
I can see why this place gets such high reviews, and I would really like to try it for dinner next time I am in Minneapolis.

Thank you, Jonah, for being part in making this an incredible night. We both have allergies that aren't serious but will still ruin a night so having a place that not only lists DF but also accommodates other allergies is a huge thing for us.
The dining room was a bit noisy when we first entered. I felt it was hard to focus but it slowly got better and we adjusted. I say this just as a heads up for those who have sensory issues.
For a unique experience I highly recommend getting a seat at the chefs high top. It's fascinating to see how each person makes everything work to make amazing meals. And truly they do each meal with precision. We ordered the swordfish and halibut. Both were amazing. My husband claims the swordfish was better but my halibut melted in my mouth, I thinkmine was better. The sauce was fantastic. Thank you for the dairy free dessert as well. Can't express how thankful we are for this truly special night.

Exceed my expectations. Everything was amazing. The food was very flavorful and delicious. The cocktails, including the dessert cocktails were fabulous. And the Lime Leaf Pavlova was scrumptious. Highly recommend this place.
I’d definitely go back to try their Brunch and Bar menu.

Exactly the type of experience you’d expect from one of Minneapolis most hyped up restaurants. Very intimate dining experience paired with exceptional service. We tried essentially the servers recommendations and were really happy with both entrees. The portions are definitely small so if you want to eat a lot then expect hitting over $200 per couple fairly easy. The standout for me was the pork chops. By far the best pork chops I have ever had in my entire life (and probably ever will) as they were truly special. Second favorite spot would be JD Hoyt’s. They also do a really awesome dessert for birthdays that tells they want to present a special experience for people. Overall, terrific spot just get your reservations a few weeks in advance!
