The Mission

I like good Latin fusion. I just think that The Mission missed the mark on several levels. You should know that this as an ala cart menu. We passed on the $18 chips and guac made table side. I ordered the Lazy Maze cocktail. It was described to me as Jalapeño cornbread in a glass. I was looking for a burst of sublime flavors. What I got was the overpowering flavor of the mezcal. The cornbread and Jalapeño flavors were lost. The Duck Empenada we ordered for our appetizer was excellent and had an impressive presentation. From there however, I thought they missed the mark on the short rib tacos. Three street tacos on the plate, very bland. I was glad I ordered the Green Chile Pinto Beans to enhance the flavor, but for $12 I thought the side was overpriced for what it was. We also had the Butternut Squash tacos and again they were bland and we were glad we had ordered a side of chipotle honey grits to up the flavor profile. Still over priced at $12 for the side. Our server Xavier was highly attentive and provided insightful guidance as it was our first time at The Mission.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Mission just gets it. From the moment we sat down, it felt like one of those meals you know you’re going to be talking about later. The tableside guacamole is pure joy. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and made right in front of you—simple, fun, and ridiculously good. It sets the tone immediately, like, okay… we’re in good hands. Then the tacos showed up and sealed the deal. The Tecate steak tacos were unreal—tender, bold, full of flavor, and impossible not to devour. And the crispy shrimp tacos? Crunchy, juicy, and gone way too fast. The kind of food that makes you slow down for a second because you don’t want it to end. What really stood out though was the whole experience. The energy, the flow, the way everything just worked. Nothing felt forced or overdone—just great food, great vibes, and a place that clearly loves what it does. The Mission isn’t trying too hard… it doesn’t need to. It’s one of those spots that leaves you happy, full, and already planning your next visit. 🌮❤️

Amazing steak tacos are incredible. The shareable are a hit. The drinks are excellent. I would recommend for nice dinner out to impress family and friends

The Mission at Kierland has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space is beautiful, the location is hard to beat, and the entire experience feels thoughtfully put together. It is the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile and come back again soon. Definitely a Kierland favorite!
